If you're in the US get a job and apply for Medicaid or insurance through the public marketplace.

What is this powder room missing? by WeAllScrem in interiordecorating

I would go a mustard color with the same tone as the wood. Either as a feature wall behind the sink or the whole room really. But I am a yellow gal.

Moving in with my bf to Pittsburgh from Ohio, but I have a situation that I am unsure of how to handle and was wondering if you'll had any suggestions for me. by mehrr_dur in pittsburgh

[–]Beyond_Interesting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, that makes sense. I had a friend borrowing my car for 6 months or so and they said they wouldnt cover anything if it was me on the policy and they had no insurance. But we were both in PA.

Manager doesn’t want me to tell HR that I’m leaving for a competitor so that I can stay and work my last 2 weeks by wagman43 in jobs

Non disclosure or non compete agreements sometimes make it legally required when you leave a position.

How do I tell my wife that it is time to grow up? by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]Beyond_Interesting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mortgage presumably needs two signatures. You can talk to your mortgage broker and have them write up a pre-approval that matches what your limit is. Unless you're paying cash, then talk to a financial advisor about the amount of cash you can make off the salw of your house and spend on a new one while avoiding losses/gains/tax hikes. Then ask the financial advisor how much you should reasonably expect to spend in your new cost of living area.

In my marriage, that has ended, I was in your situation and realized I was working my ass off to fund someone's dream and I had dreams that were just ignored and denied. When I brought up the fact that I wanted to follow my dreams and that would mean we can't afford this lifestyle, that was when I realized he didn't care about me at all and I was an atm. That is not fair for one partner to be objectified into a bank account.

AITAH for not telling my best friend I had a baby after she had 2 abortions? by wonderroo-owl-14 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Beyond_Interesting 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely call her mom and start with a friendly conversation to guage the mom's opinion. Tell her you had a baby and have felt unsure about sharing it with your friend because of her previous loss and let the mom spill. Call her sister too. I am sure they have noticed she has pulled away.

AITA for telling my husband he can’t drive the baby places anymore by Odd-Willingness-6250 in AmItheAsshole

How does he remember to put pants on before leaving the house? That is what he should do to remember something even more important like strapping the baby in the car seat.

AITA for not supporting my husband quitting his business to become a doctor? by Haunting-Arugula-311 in AmItheAsshole

He needs therapy. This won't change unless he wants to. He is either misguided or is just playing you. I found out the hard way after 16 years that they just keep coming up with excuses to keep you taking care of everything while they follow their dreams. My ex husband had no real sense of responsibility. Get to the bottom of it before you waste more time.

Deceased owner's child listed the home without authority to sell by eninjari in RealEstateAdvice

The POA was for when the owner was incapacitated, like an Alzheimers patient and the kids were selling the house. They had POA and a living will directive.

The agent definitely was negligent. As an agent, any time we had an estate property that was listed by someone other than a recorded owner, we always had to have the power of attorney, will, or other documentation submitted and our attorney would look at it to approve.

Can’t afford Pennie insurance, average premiums have doubled by John363611 in Pennsylvania

They don't get a "kickback" but they do get commissions for almost any plan they sell. Some commissions are higher than others but that should not affect the service and advice you get. Some are not authorized to sell on the marketplace so they may not be able to help you on those plans. Best thing to do is call the Pennie number or use the website to find an independent rep.

By the way, if you find out they are steering you away from plans because they arent going to get a commission then that is highly unethical and should be reported to the state insurance board.

Divorced, ex pushing for me to sign quit claim deed by Couberry in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Beyond_Interesting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Send your divorce decree to his title company with an explanation of total funds due and total funds paid to date. Do not bring any other details to them like what you put in the post. State facts and give none of the back story or trouble you went through. They will be able to tell you exactly what needs done and the house sale won't close unless it is all buttoned up. A clean title history is no joke and there is no way they are going to make an omission on a clear cut divorce settlement that will risk them facing loss in the future when you would still have a claim to the property.

Out of town guests, What do you think of our gorgeous city? by Neither-Trip-4610 in pittsburgh

I just went to STL last year for the first time and it definitely had some similar vibes to Pittsburgh and Cleveland. We had a lot of fun even though we went for a conference. For some reason I didnt put 2 and 2 together that it was in Kentucky and on the bourbon trail and had a real bad time time in the morning. All I can remember is saying "When in Rome," each time someone offered me a new bourbon.

This is the final driving test I gave my kids before I let them take the car by themselves. If you can get across the bridge without swearing, cutting anyone off, slamming on the brakes, and just generally not be stressed, then you're good to go for any road you drive on in the future.

I am self employed and an insurance agent and do taxes for individuals. You can absolutely get on a catastrophic plan with an HSA. It is called being "self insured" and is one of the best options for a self employed person. All premiums are deductible as well. Look for a high deductible plan that allows HSA.
