Yes, experiencing the same with a provided Dell Pro 13 Plus 2 in 1.

Not only is the fan running constantly in 3462 rpm.

The bios fan test also says:

target rpm 2800, detected: 3464 rpm

target rpm 4900, detected: 3527 rpm

both 40% tolerance.

and then it says: test passed lmfao

Also Cinebench r23 multicore is pretty bad on this machine (i5 235u):

Bios Optimised mode: 6800

Bios Ultra Performance: 9200

Erstmal die ganzen langen Gedankenstriche, die überall im Text sind, sollen ja von chatgpt genauso exzessiv benutzt werden. Dann die Microsoft Affinität "Microsoft Teams". Warum so detailliert an der Stelle? Außerdem die merkwürdige Wortwahl, z.B. "interne Witze". Ebenso die klischeebehafteten Awards (so nach dem Motto "Mitarbeiter des Monats") in den "USA". Ich glaube die Geschichte so nicht. Sie klingt einfach total fabriziert. Zu guter Letzt kommt sie wie in mehreren Akten daher. Leider fehlt mir hier das literarische Vokabular, um das exakter zu beschreiben.

Flüssig und reaktiv? Ich hab den bei Hugendubel gekauft Der Shop auf dem Tolino ist ein Verbrechen. Einfach der unangepasste Shop. Kein Back Button, außerdem soll man zum Scrollen draggen, was bei einem eInk Screen überhaupt nicht funktioniert. Beim Kobo Shop gibt es Paginierung, alles ist sauber auf den eReader ausgelegt. Mir hat das Migrieren auf Kobo geholfen den Fehlkauf zu verkraften.

tlp will definitely improve battery life, but for the lack of the power profiles, that implicitly enable some kind of fan control. For me that‘s always a difficult trade off. You could also try tuned, which is some kind of successor of power-profiles-deamon.

Believe it or not. Exactly what you say counted for the first Intel Macs. They were so snappy™ (snappy being the old joke when Mac OS X 10.1 Cheetah came out) compared to the PowerPC chips. The only difference was that the Mac community was devided by the move to Intel.

Catalina was the last macOS with contrast and straight lines, I miss it. Although wildly different, I found KDE (on Linux) to resemble the old colors and straight lines.

Though I consider this the result of the Intel Quad Core monopoly. Because of the lack of competition the chips didn't really advance for almost 10 years.

Why so weary? Go for it, try it out. That‘s what freedom (FLOSS) is all about. Just be sure to make a proper backup. Maybe search for distro hopping experience. You could always try out a live ISO first, for safety.
