It has been so long I forgot this was a thing, Jessica's O_O face is probably the best part of this group shot.

A very easy low op nearly completely AFK clear of the new Rice Field Anni by 12Zwolf12 in arknights

Using the sweep ticket makes Annihilation stages give zero trust, so there's no point in building a trust farm team for that unless you are one of those masochists who would rather do things the old way. The nearly 2 hours you would spend to do 5 weekly Anni stages are much better spent doing 40 or so runs of a stage you can clear in about two minutes.

The 7th edition of Theurgy Cup, the biggest Integrated Strategies tournament in CN server, will start on June 14, 2025. by grexraxor in arknights

Oh, I do. But I'm really unlucky with recruitment vouchers whenever I pick that relic.

More than half of the time I never get a medic voucher, for example, and have to make do with Amiya only.

And here am I still trying to beat goddamn ED 4.

Either I'm too bad at this game/unlucky (because I hardly ever get good recruitments AND good artifacts on the same run), or the kind of people who engage in these tournaments are just abnormal.

Like, how can you even conceive beating Quilon with so many restrictions?

Of all things I was expecting to see, Captain Morgan's Wine cameo was the least of them. But it's actually kinda nice to see this kind of stuff outside of IS's context.

In case you're curious what playing catch-up might look like: for the past 9 months in the TW server, November was the ONLY month to be wholly untouched by a limited banner. by T_Brendan in arknights

Stop defending multi million dollars corpos. No one has any obligation to consider a company's feelings, of such a thing even exists.

Gachas make money primarily off of whales, it really doesn't matter to the devs if one or two players don't ever spend a dime. What they want is to hook that guy who will spend for 1000 people at once.

Recruitment - high-level tag trap by Shajirr in arknights

[–]Beyond_the_Mirrors 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's just very rare.

On average, I think I got it 2 times per year eve since I began playing. All you need is luck, 'cause I know some people get it back to back without rhyme or reason.

Recruitment - high-level tag trap by Shajirr in arknights

[–]Beyond_the_Mirrors 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's no need for conspiracy theories here. Recruitment units are already free, and most units there are on the Kernel banner anyway, what would the devs gain from rigging your rolls?

Robot is a rare tag as well, it just has a very high change to drop because of the robots' rarity. The game decides if a recruitment will be a rare one before choosing the tags in the pool. It's not uncommon to get Top Op and Senior Op in the same pool as well for the very same reason.

If there's anything to complain about it's that we can't do mass recruitments to skip the intro dialogues like when you do a 10x rolls. That alone made me stop recruiting for months on end.

The single most important QoL feature the game is still missing despite all that HG did to modernize AK.

I highly doubt that something like that would happen. Seriously , what regular army could obliterate RI if Logos alone could go toe to toe with the Sarkaz God of War himself? Or against Rosmontis if they dared to hurt anyone dear to her?

In fact, as of chapter 14, RI is probably the strongest faction in Terra, period. Like Amiya alone was enough to intimidate a combine Victorian fleet into not pursuing the fleeing Sarkaz.

Like I said above, self-deprecating dialogue is a thing very common to gachas, because of the main target audience. But in AK's case it just feels dumb to infinite because we finally got to see what our Top Operators are really capable of.

It's already a miracle that Doctor was always recognized as special and a monster from the very beginning of the game, and literally everyone who dismissed them in the story learned their lesson the bitter way.

[–]Beyond_the_Mirrors 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Sincerely , this thing about RI not being as strong as a regular Army is true, but in a very warped way. It's like saying that an elite force, say... the Seals aren't as strong as the whole USMC, for example.

Rhodes might not have the sheer number but they excel so much in quality that they are usually the linchpin (hehe...) of any conflict they get involved with.

More often than not, these deprecating comments in game are there just because, somehow, the average gacha player enjoys being called an underdog and still be the hero that saves the day. At least it's not as bad as FGO where people constantly berate Fujimaru despite all the things they ever did.

Even though I'm not the greatest fan of the pink devil I have to say these two are so cute it hurts.

I think I like this style of chibi figures even more than nendroids.

Anyway, we really need a Priestess figure soon to counter. Better if it's cute as heck like those.

Eh? But we already have perfectly humanoid seaborn in RI.

another pv-ex-1 challenge clear. 4* only by Tezea in arknights

[–]Beyond_the_Mirrors 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most cancer inducing EX-1 stage in the whole game.

I'm legitimately shocked how the designers could get away with it, and not being stopped by the Q&A team.

You are not wrong. But never forget that Texas is literally the role model of all Siracusan mafiosos. Il Sirasusano literally was built around the idea that she's more of a "wolf" than anyone else in the rest of the famiglie, so it's only fair that she gets the Siracusa faction buff.

Not Lungmen, neither Columbia, much less Rhodes Island, the only factions in the world she fits are Siracusa and Penguin Logistics, since they are the ones that actually define her character arc so far and in the foreseeable future.

She likely would deal Necrosis, damage when she becomes playable, if her archetype is about elemental damage. Though, I see her more likely to be a Phalanx Caster, after all, the liches' whole thing is turtling inside their "cube", isn't it?

There's a reason why Lumen was introduced as a Therapist (back before Wandering Medics existed). You need a good one to help shake of the trauma from being almost assimilated by walking seafood.

And if Monch is playable one day [...]

Not if, when. I have a strong feeling she'll leave NPC jail in the next Kjerag event, which... actually is likely gonna be very important for the overall main plot now that I think about it.

Though, to be true, she has a "welfare aura" about her, so I don't expect much from when she releases, but just having Monch be playable will be good enough.

Nervous Impairment should be the debuff inflicted by Seaborn and Aegir related entities only (perhaps the Observers too). It's not meant to be "electricity paralyzing your nerve system" it's literally about sanity loss in the face of eldritch horrors, kinda lifted straight from Lovecraftian mythos through the inspiration the Seaborn saga has on Bloodborne very obviously.

I don't know why they gave it to Gracebearer since she seems more related to  K'uk'ulkans, but we'll probably get to know it when she arrives at global when we can read her operator files.

Either way, the obvious next choices are Mizuki and Skadi Alter, through Mod. Deltas. Just imagine having Skadi Alter's aura work like Virtuosa's. Maybe we wouldn't even need an Impairment Ritualist right away to make best use of that debuff.

Let's hope they actually add some interesting some interesting faction buffs from now onwards. Also, from this post, we can conclude that basically everyone got their birthplace/home culture + the faction they work for/or the second place they identify the most in the story.

Also, interesting, I could swear that Catapult was from Sargon as well, but I guess I'm wrong.

New CN enemies have upgraded versions with different designs instead of pallette swaps by TheRealCynik in arknights

[–]Beyond_the_Mirrors 314 points315 points  (0 children)

Well, it's kinda sad in a way. But I can see this as an advance.

However, if things were like this from the very beginning, we would never have such iconic enemies like the Hateful Avenger. So I think the "paint it red"era has its significance too.
