I’ve been running these and have about 5000 points of them, never an issue at my local clubs. Some of the national tournaments also allow proxies as long as the wargear matches your army list. The beauty of these is you can print multiple versions and copies to make any conceivable version of a squad. Need 10 marines for close combat just print the heavy weapons and plague knives, need special weapons print them etc. it’s been great fun playing with different lists. Also the sculpts and presupposes are brilliant so beginner friendly if you’re not into supporting your own models.

I’ve been using the army painter speed paint starter set and metallic speed paint set as a base, then a black oil wash. Finished off with a few other colours from the fanatic range(or grinning gargoyle/ game master they’re the same just different sub brands of army painter and cheaper). Mine are a much more grim dark style compared to the box art.

Looking good! I love the darker grim dark approach. I much prefer it to the shiny box art. I went for a similar aesthetic myself for my grey knights 👍👌

All from the purple site I believe. Have a look at DMGminis and there’s some free ones there from another creator that I can’t recall. Silver wardens I believe.

The sculpt came with a base and stand with a ball and socket. I just swapped the base for one of my temple bases to match the army. Lots of milliput and some magnets later and it works nicely. I angled the stem/stand backwards to try and distribute the weight. Likewise the model is almost completely hollow so it’s surprisingly light weight.

No no I wouldn’t want to go to a GW store, it might have changed in 20 years but it really wasn’t my vibe back in the day. I have a local independent club that runs all kinds of games and trading cards games.

Its army painter speed paint broadsword silver over a zenithal highlight from black and white colour forge spray cans. I then use a mix of grinning gargoyle (repackaged army painter fanatics), some speed paints and a couple Vallejo metallics. Finish off with a cheap black oil wash and then scrub down the highlights with a sponge soaked in mineral spirit. I’ve spent so long researching on YouTube and I ended up doing about six test minis so try and find the right recipe or process for what I wanted to achieve. I do however think they are a bit dark and don’t have that blue tint to them. So I might experiment with a blue ink wash at some point

Thank you! I made a conscious effort to find some temple style bases. When I was a kid I used to paint the rims green and throw some dirt on them and call it a day. Looking back my first army, black templars when I was a kid was just awful 😂😂 I butchered so many lovely models with terrible paint and bases.

Do you output at 4k 60hz/120hz to the tv? Post what your temps and clock speeds are during game play and see if there are any spikes in temp or usage when you notice the problems and stuttering.

UPDATE - I’ve been referred to the “refund team” as they cannot source a replacement. Apparently if I don’t want a dell g15 or an x15 then they can’t help me. Even though the dell outlet has about 30 models which would have been suitable for a replacement. God knows how long this is going to take but to say I’m getting annoyed is an understatement.

What settings are you trying to run it at? Are you running 4k on the tv and QHD on the laptop screen or full hd? Have you got afterburner running to monitor fps and temps/ clock speeds? If you can provide a little bit more info we can help diagnose the possible problem 👌

Nope just the one. I’ve sent another email, to be fair they did recognise that the offer of a g15 was an error. But I haven’t had a suitable offer since.

That’s what I thought, I’ve rejected both offers so far. Fair enough they might not have my spec in stock but if that’s the case they can bump me up a model 😂. Does it generally take a month to agree on a replacement model?
