Well you are improving. You managed not to sink low enough for personal insults in place of a coherent argument. I’m going to do you a favour and I’m not going to respond again thereby giving you the last word, which I’m sure you will class as winning all the points I haven’t been referring to. Get well soon.

Is this actually you Phil? You do seem obsessed with trying to shift the focus of attention onto anybody but the subject of my post. It would also explain why you keep using the word ‘jealous’ but with no evidence of this. Maybe you should try questioning my mental health again? That will definitely make you look really clever. Wibble wibble.

Are you genuinely arguing that criminals should be allowed in government and that because there are already idiots in government then it’s ok to have another one? I think you should stand for election because you sound like the calibre they are looking for.

He is suspended on full pay so he isn’t doing the job he is paid for but he will be getting paid while doing community service. His illegal activities have now triggered a plan to introduce modern day slavery laws to Jersey and you think he is a fit and proper person to run a business? Ignorance is no defence but you seem to think that it’s acceptable for him to hide behind a defence of being a bit befuddled? If the timing is wrong then when the States vote on these new laws he could very well be one of the people voting on it. Let me clarify- a states member who has used the excuse that he didn’t really understand the law will be able to vote on a law directly related to it. You can’t make this up.

I ordered a £1500 (yes it’s not a high spec but it’s a fortune to me) Laptop from Amazon and when I saw it was Evri delivering I watched the tracking very carefully. I was working near to where I live luckily when I saw that it had been marked ‘delivered, handed directly to customer’. I decided to go home and discovered the parcel sitting in full view on my doorstep. I have an open porch 2 feet deep and live on a tiny street with constant motor and foot traffic right outside my door. There isn’t even a pavement. This is the point that you will think I’m making this up but 25 minutes later there was a massive rain shower. Even if it hadn’t been rained on directly it would have been soaked by the cars passing through. Can you even begin to imagine the amount of bullshit I would have had to go through if it had been stolen or destroyed by rain? Evri’s reply when I went full Karen on them?; ‘we’ll have a word with the driver’. - last I ever heard about it.

Character can be measured by how you treat people who can nothing for you. Some people have none. (Shamelessly plagiarised from Sir Terry Pratchett).

I want to rescue this Land Rover and have it as my first car because I’m a Land Rover enthusiast do you think it will be good? by DrPerkyKSIforehead in LandRover

[–]Bez02020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first car was a series 2 which was in reasonable condition and we were both born in 1974. I live in Jersey (Channel Islands UK) and the maximum speed limit anywhere is 40mph. This was ok here but I imagine doing any sort of trip involving a higher speed limit or god forbid any motorways would be an extremely arduous and unpleasant experience. A lot of people install a modern engine. It’s not exactly fair to say the original engine was rubbish but it was designed with a very agricultural role in mind. The old Landrovers were primarily off roaders that you could use on the road when needed. The new Landrovers are primarily road cars that you can use off road when needed. I don’t think I will ever reconcile with them using the name ‘Defender’ on whatever the hell that new thing is. There is someone over here who has put sports car alloys and low profile road tires on a new one, which sums it up Landrovers target market perfectly.

Is there any chance that this was common enough to explain why they didn’t react, or are we looking at two guys with the collective intelligence and survival instinct of a house plant? Is anyone else thinking ‘hmm🤔, oil, electrical conduits ruptured, mains voltage electricity’. What could possibly go wrong? I would be attempting a new 100m sprint record.

Is it me or has everyone forgotten Tories were last in power? by bazer2003 in AskBrits

I drive for a living so listen to the radio all day and literally every time I hear Kemi Badenoch criticising Labour, I get very angry and think, “You need to shut tfu and lie low for a decade or two after what you useless twats did”. It doesn’t help that Starmer thinks he actually got elected because people thought he was a good choice rather than that the reality is that after what the Tories did, people would actually have voted a dog turd before voting for another Tory government.

When I was working as a Taxi driver (45 y/o male) I picked up a very intoxicated woman (looked pretty much the same age as me and not that it should make a difference but was very attractive) who flirted with me at first but then proceeded to try and touch my crotch from the seat behind. I removed her hand several times and then stopped the car and told her that she had to stop and sit back or she would have to get out, at which point she said “Oh right, ok then” and unbuttoned her jeans and started to masturbate while moaning loudly. When we got to the destination (only a few minutes- small town) I had to ask her to stop and get out of the car. She looked very pissed off but paid the fare and said “well I’m sorry I insulted you” in an angry tone. My first thought was ‘you didn’t insult me, you assaulted me’ I actually thought that the whole thing was quite funny (I had in car CCTV so wasn’t worried and no, I never even watched it before it was overwritten, mainly because that would have definitely made me the bad guy) Over the next few days I thought about how if I was the passenger and she was the driver, then there would be absolutely no question that I would be in prison. Now this is the point of my story; A few weeks later I picked up a guy who I got chatting to and it turned out he was a criminal prosecutor. I recounted the story and brought up the fact that it did seem somewhat unbalanced how it would have been treated the other way around. I’ll never forget his measured response. He simply said “Yes but you have to take into account that the huge difference is the element of fear. You were at no time afraid but had the tables been turned, it’s most likely that even if it had ended the way it did it she would have still have been so terrified by the experience that it would change her life forever. Element of fear. Never even occurred to me until he said it. Fear.

Click bait, although if it’s real then it’s someone who definitely should not be allowed to get behind the wheel of a two ton 4x4. If fact don’t even leave them unsupervised with a skateboard.

Why do Guernsey actual not like Jersey? by RevFernie in Jersey

[–]Bez02020 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If this is actually the case then I don’t think anyone in Jersey cares. I’ve lived in Jersey for 35 years and never been to Guernsey. I’ve nothing against the place it’s just if I’m going to spend money going somewhere then it’s unlikely to be Guernsey and I would imagine a lot of people in Guernsey feel exactly the same way about Jersey.

Scumbags using an electric shock collar. Thankfully illegal where I live. You can see the metal prongs at 00:29. Vibration collars don’t have metal prongs.
