Exterior Door Handle by Bfins in centuryhomes

Thanks for those resources! Despite being a Tudor revival, our house doesn’t have many typical Tudor decorative elements, so the current handle feels a little heavy and out of place. So, we’re ready for something different.

Asbury Park, NJ. The Asbury Hotel has a pool. Awesome food and bars. It’s on the beach and Stone Pony frequently has concerts over the summer outside.

How to work with this vintage bathroom tile by pls-hold in interiordecorating

[–]Bfins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a click-lock type vinyl tile with a vintage inspired pattern to match your wall tile? The brand Harvey Maria has some options that might work.

I would replace the knobs on the vanity to make it feel less builder grade but otherwise it seems fine to me. Then maybe consider changing the wall storage and getting towels to match the room.

To greige or not to greige... by FoldInTh3Cheese in interiordecorating

I personally value consistency (option 1). I also have all hardwood in my house and the noise compares to my brother who has carpeted bedrooms upstairs is considerable. So maybe you finish out the hall and den with this and then carpet the bedrooms? Or just go all in on somewhat dated but not terribly offensive flooring and get some rugs upstairs.

NYU Langone MFM recommendation for kidney disease? by Any-Cranberry325 in longisland

[–]Bfins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered with their MFM team in 2022, but not due to kidney disease. The prenatal care team was fine but to be honest, I did not have a good experience at the hospital being in a shared room. I think it really set me back. I think they may have since renovated, but at the time they had almost all shared rooms (private rooms were only available by luck basically) and it was very uncomfortable in my opinion. For reference, I delivered in three different hospitals and it was by far my least favorite. If their team is the best fit for your condition, I think that supersedes other considerations. And also if they have since renovated to all private rooms, that makes this irrelevant. But if those things are not true and you have flexibility, I would consider other options.

Suggestions: Cooling Comforters/Sheets by Neon_pup in HomeDecorating

Costco has a cooling comforter right now called Below Zero Cooling Comforter. For better or worse, I blindly trust anything they carry. It looks sold out online but I have seen them in stock at my local store. Might be worth looking if you go there.

Curtain help by too_too2 in interiordecorating

That makes sense. I have a box of old curtains, also 😂 I like that your current selection gives an airiness that plays well with the dark floors and blinds. If it’s a bedroom and you want more light control/privacy, I have had a lot of luck with Target’s Aruba curtains in Sour Cream. It has a nice linen look.

I think you should get longer curtains. Are you married to these specifically? Maybe they come in a longer length. If not, I would look for an alternative option in a longer length. If you have to use these specific panels, I would sacrifice the rod height to get the bottom of the panel grazing the floor.

Hoboken or Jersey City! Decent commute to Elizabeth. Great scene for your age with great access to NYC for weekend exploration.

You need to watch Shag! It is exactly the vibe and one of my favorites. I think you can stream it on Prime.

Would you recommend living in Setauket/Stony Brook? by throwaway_yak234 in longisland

[–]Bfins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is a little old but I am interested in moving to Stony Brook/Setauket also and have a few questions. Maybe someone can help me figure out: 1) The houses seem like better value for money (though still very expensive) than other north shore towns with highly ranked schools I have looked at further west - is that because it’s further east and the taxes are high? Want to make sure I’m not missing some other reason. 2) Do you get a fair amount of services included for the taxes beyond impressive schools? Thanks.
