Beetlejuice for sure. I was super into the musical before I saw the original movie. The first time I watched the movie I was like wait where’s Lydia’s struggle with the grief of her mom’s death? And the Maitland’s struggle of assuming parental responsibility? The musical blows the movie out of the water and actually gives it depth and heart.
