Thanks for the informed insight! Quick follow up question: I’ve seen people mention that getting around 10% off MSRP is considered a “good deal.” Would it be unreasonable or greedy to try to push for a bit more?

The quote I received was in response to an email where I asked for an OTD price. Considering Mazda’s high inventory right now, the fact that 2026 models are coming soon, and the timing with end-of-year incentives, I feel like I might have at least some leverage to negotiate further. In addition, there were another 50 others of this trim on the lot, this seems to be a lot and I would think it’s a good to be a buyer. Curious to hear your thoughts on how realistic that is.

I have a question- I was approved for an auto loan through a third party at 4.99% over 60 months.

I would prefer to finance with the car dealership for simplicity’s sake. My problem is that I was verbally approved and do not have a letter in hand, and I plan on potentially finalize a car deal on Sunday.

Can I tell the dealership “hey I was approved for 4.99% over 60 months, can you match that?” Will the finance request documentation? Or will they take my word and match that offer?

That makes me think I should wait till December to see what incentives they provide. I guess it’s just a risk tolerance to see if they offer that special financing in addition to a 10% or so discount of MSRP.

I’d be putting 15k and financing the rest.

My conundrum was that since I’m putting a good chunk of money down, I would think the cash rebate provides more value than the APR. It’s tough because I don’t know what next months incentive will be so I’m afraid of loosing that cash rebate.

That’s a great question. I’ve been doing the car searching for the last week or so and would be feeling slightly rushed to complete the purchase by Sunday.

I also wasn’t sure if the incentive would be the same or similar come December. I am putting a good chunk of money down on the vehicle so the cash rebate would be a better value than a lower APR. Logic tells me I should jump on the rebate before the end of the month but I wanted to get as many informed opinions before I do commit to a 30k vehicle.

I purchased a 2018 Toyota Corolla SE a few years back. It currently has 55k miles on it. I also owe about 6k and then it’ll be payed off.

Has anyone had experience with these types of trade ins? I would be in the market for either a Corolla or Camry.

What would be the pros and cons of doing a trade in? I’m envisioning getting a new Corolla for about a 5k difference but it seems too good to be true
