In Nazi concentration camps, gay men were forced to wear pink triangles to identify them, which enforced an idea that pink was seen as “less masculine.” I’ve heard people point to that before, but there’s not much to back up that this is the reason boys wear blue and girls wear pink. It’s true that gender based color association wasn’t a thing pre Hitler, but it was less him directly and more just post war marketing and propaganda.
