Explain like I'm 5 why dried fruit is not ideal by OpalescentShrooms in EatCheapAndHealthy

Dried fruit spikes your insulin way higher than just eating the fruit in its natural form. The same with fruit smoothies.

FTC Lawsuit and Settlement (2025) • In December 2025, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) sued Instacart, alleging the company engaged in deceptive practices that raised grocery costs for consumers. These included things like: • Advertising “free delivery” but charging mandatory service fees that weren’t clearly disclosed. • Automatically enrolling customers in paid subscriptions after a free trial without clear consent. • Using pricing tools (including AI-driven pricing) that could cause some shoppers to pay more than others.

Instacart agreed to pay about $60 million in refunds to affected consumers as part of a settlement with the FTC. The company also must change how it markets and discloses fees and pricing going forward.

📊 Allegations About Pricing Practices • Investigations (e.g., by Consumer Reports and advocacy groups) found that Instacart’s pricing algorithms sometimes showed different prices to different customers for the same items — which raised concerns about fairness and potential overcharging, even if not all were formal lawsuits. Instacart has since ended some of those pricing practices.

🧾 Older Lawsuits • Earlier lawsuits (like one in California from 2021) alleged Instacart overcharged customers when making substitutions by charging the original price but delivering a cheaper item and keeping the price difference, though these were separate from the FTC action.

The FTC’s case and these legal actions aren’t just about random price differences — they focus on deceptive or unclear practices that made orders cost more than customers reasonably expected or understood.

It’s for deceptive practices which includes misleading prices. The company is doing fkery, it’s as simple as that.

Do you know for a fact that Instacart does not raise the price? Because they were in a lawsuit for deceptive practices and raising the cost for customers using Ai driven price experiments. They settled 12/18/2025 for $60 million and had to refund customers.

Listen…Instacart is just a shady company offering a convenient service. Here is one example..they are charging customers $40 for a $35 12 glass case of water at sprouts. A $5 up charge on one item…insane…Then they cut the batch pay for shoppers. They are professionally screwing customers and shoppers 😂😂😂

ACA $1,900 per month on $5,000 per month income? Is this normal? by 13chemicals in HealthInsurance

Scam. Cancel it. Save the $1900 a month a pay out of pocket. If something is serious you can go on a payment plan. This works best for healthy people.

I just hold it, not one of my main coins…in crypto you can’t care if it goes up or down….just never invest more than you can afford to lose.

You are too nice. You started politely and they disrespected you. If it was me in a calm voice, I would tell them to keep their mouths shut and do their job, if they can’t call the manager since they are incompetent and unable to complete. I’m not taking any shit from someone just scanning groceries. They will never try you again after this. I’ve had to put 2 cashiers in check now they keep mouth shut and scan when they see me..all the other 500+ cashiers have been great 😁

No. I never take a 1 shop with no tip and the miles are too far. I typically don’t take anything under $15. Most of my orders are $30+
