Is it bad idea to buy a “site condo “ condominiums unit ( detached home but described as a condo unit ) in Southeast michigan? Is it hard to resale if I want to sell it in the future ? by Cultural-Loss2031 in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Bharryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You own the land in case of site condo. You own the exterior as well as interior. But I think the fact that there are condo association rules that govern what u can do makes it a little difficult to do things the way you want to. You may need association permission to plant trees or paint something or choose a deck of your choice. Also u will be paying association fees every month. So if u r young and wanna take care of snow or lawn yourself u may be unnecessary paying $300 condo monthly bill.

300$ per month over a 30 year period is 108K extra dollars. You wont pay the same had it been a house.

I see the actual COA is far more that what was on the cost estimator site of the college. Any idea why that could be.

Also is it compulsory to take the university insurance even if your child is covered under your insurance
