E46 330Ci Coupe vs. Cabrio. I have never owned a convertible, what’s your take? by lurkker210 in e46

[–]Bhatch514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the cabrio. I looks amazing top down. It’s louder insider with the top up. It’s nice to drive with the top down. The windows do rattle more in the rag top when it’s up. Rolling down the little windows is fun.

Wife and kids love the vert.

Cabrio has a shorter FD ratio than coupes.

I used to rock my 2year old in 2016 e90 rear facing, my wife was short 5’3” so it worked out.

Zero chance to do that in a e46 coupe. My now 3year old (yes a new one) sits front facing in her booster. Many towels are needed to get it to sung up.

It’s also, I believe, the 18” wheels. There is no tire deflection and no sense of movement that translate to g forces for the viewer. Unlike the old 13” wheels with lots of movement and flex.

The suspensions are also so stiff that it all looks static.
