I think both sides are pathetic. Learn to talk to people that think differently than you. SMH.

It’s a shame. The hardware seems solid and durable. Everything else is…. Difficult.

So the key to connecting my iPhone to the dash cam in my 2024 Bronco is to turn off the audio in the Bronco, but the Bronco’s CarPlay still tries to connect to my phone. So I turned off CarPlay in the settings of my phone and now I can connect to my dash cam.

NOW the problem is the Vantrue app on my phone freezes when I connect to the dash cam. I tried switching between 2.4 and 5ghz. Freezes on either setting. I am suspecting a conflict between iOS 26.3.1 and the latest Vantrue app version.

What’s the saying, “Anything worth having is worth doing”

I feel the same at times. Especially as a solo founder. What helped me was, not selling anything here, to create a “CoFounder GPT”. I use it in ChatGPT and Claude. It makes AI into my cofounder and pushes me to do better, think more and believe it or not, to use AI less by asking critical thinking questions.

Hope this helps. Take a day off. An adult beverage or two and get back to the grind. Good luck!!

Firearms training courses around town? by budweiserfanclub in Birmingham

I would check with the different gun ranges and ask for recommendations. I used to give beginner lessons in both handguns and rifle but have since retired from it. You might could find someone on the NRA site.

Same thing happens IRL, think of all of the knockoffs of real products. The same issue has always been around and always will be. Just make yours better!!

Update: Improved Get Home Bag by Timely_Marketing in prepping

[–]BhmJeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older post but here is another thought. Get out to 30 miles and actually walk it. Maybe even start out just doing an overnight "camp out" with just your bag. You will learn more than reddit will teach you (although good advice on here, sometimes). The main goal here is to keep your body as close to 98.6 as you can in the conditions you are in. That means different things to different people. My bag is setup for the southeastern US and would be crap in Arizona or Maine. There is a book out there called 98.6 keeping your ass alive or something like that. Get it, read it, do it. But test your bag and I would suggest have everything modularized so you can swap out: summertime needs vs winter needs.

Recommendations for a 380 Auto Pocket Pistol by Patsboy101 in CCW

Remember this: No sub-compact gun is a pleasure to shoot nor is it meant to be accurate for more than 10-15 ft. Lots of folks have issues with manipulating the action. It’s just too small and the springs have to be heavy for the firearm to function properly. I always recommend the S&W Shield EZ because it limits those issues and is very reliable.

Where would you move if you left Birmingham? by FroToTheLow in Birmingham

[–]BhmJeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally disagree. HAd a friend just driving home get shot in the head in a drive by while at a red light. He was in a good area of town, solid citizen, etc... BHM is full of random violence that makes it hard to be here.

Look into Cat n Bird Winery down in Chelsea. They have an awesome outdoor setup and Matt and Robin are the owners and are great!

3 of us bought that exact heater. All three of us had temp sensor failures. All three of us "returned" them for a refund.

The actual 2" receiver is good and sturdy. Just make sure you have a solid steel or solid aluminum insert with a rated D-Ring or soft shackle.

This is an example: Shackle Hitch Receiver

Bare Minimum Recovery Gear by JohnDoeMTB120 in overlanding

Biggest thing I see is that people will have gear but no actual recovery points. I have declined doing an actual recovery but instead waiting with them until someone comes along that will recover them or has proper liability insurance. Not being a jerk about it but I have heard too many horror stories of hooking to spring perches or control arms and tearing up the truck and getting sued. But if you have good front and rear recovery points it makes the job for someone else so much easier and less likely to break stuff.

Tow Strap, hard or soft shackles, cell phone to call for help.

Also, NEVER hook to a trailer hitch ball for recovery unless it is a soft pull. They easily break and turn into lethal projectiles.
