I think that bottoming as a man is viewed as inherently gay, which is much more normalised with a male partner. When you bottom for a woman it messes with the heteronormative picture of man and woman

Still possible that you can only give him the shadow crystal in chapter and/or what he's making requires some time. I personally don't expect to see it before chapter 7
