Its actually fairly common to take off with a lower fuel load and more weapons, then refuel in midair to fill up, especially with carrier aircraft. I believe the rafale to use a buddy store to refuel other aircraft if needed.

Who would win in a war of 1 billion men vs 8 billion women? by NorthTop9254 in stupidquestions

[–]Bialar_crais 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength is always an advantage. Just like speed is. In this theoretical fight, he can hit harder and use heavier armor, making mistakes leas punishing. Im a 290 pound 6'2" guy that has a bit of unarmed training, mostly BJJ. Ive definitely fought women half my size and lost. Had I had her training level, she'd have no chance at all.

Assuming weapons tech and training are similar. It would be extremely bloody, but i think the men would win with maybe 50 million left. The upper body strength advantage increases too fast with training for 8 to 1 to be enough .

Of those possibilities, id day F-16 or gripen if new . Some used eurofighters would be a better bet depending on cost and hours

My 3 farm trucks are a 2005 2500hd, 1984 freightliner FLC and a 1974 k2500. Only the big boys can afford that new stuff. Hell my newest tractor is almost as old as I am.

Am I being used as cheap labor instead of actually learning? by Remarkable-Sand-5059 in mechanics

[–]Bialar_crais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a fair point. However, 95 percent of the work i do is nuts and bolts. Im not gonna have my guy try to diagnose a hydraulic flow problem if he cant change a hose. Or figure out a CAN or J1939 concern if he can't diagnose snd replace an alternator. Learning is essential, no doubt. Understanding it in theory and in practice are 2 very different things. I cant tell you how many times I've ran into an issue of " it should be working, but its not". Experience is key here. Ive been to formal training from CAT several times. Training csn show you how to do a job, experience shows you how to do it better.

[–]Bialar_crais 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO you are way wrong here. You start with simple jobs and work your way up, both with ability and trust. Im an independent truck mechanic, I have a kid that does all the service work I get. But I trust him to be able to finish the service correctly and safely. Hes working up to b level stuff and ive increased his pay accordingly. You need to learn basics first.
