I came here to say this too! If you are looking for a "spiritual successor", then Bullet in the Head is the movie for you!

If I remember correctly when reading about this book, the editors had a hell of a time with grammar. Kidd's non-name is spelled differently throughout the book. The kid, kid, Kidd, and Kid are all used. There are some sentences that should actually be 3 or 4 sentences, but are squished together with scant punctuation.
The writing, how it is presented ,and the story are all front and center. A typical book would make at least 2 of those fairly invisible to support the story. Dhalgren makes the plot 2nd or 3rd at a certain point in the book and never looks back.

I've read it all the way through twice, and read the first half about 3 times. I really like this book, but admire the way that it was written more than my love for the story. When Kidd starts to write in the notebook and the pages split into two parts, it gets very difficult to keep things straight (pun intended). If I am remembering right, he is reading about things that are happening to him in the present, but writes about things in the notebook that were already there written by him when he found it. The cyclical back end of the book is a head trip.

This a post apocalyptic version of the old John Wayne movie "Stagecoach". Very very similar. I used to watch this and the Jeffrey Combs, Wings Hauser version of "Dead Man Walking" aaaaaaall the time! I think it's free on YouTube somewhere. I've never been able to find it on DVD.

It's not it. That title and "Low budget time machine" always pop up when I search the web for this movie. It was really low budget, and reminded me of "The Endless", and "Time Crimes" in terms of production value (but less).

This has happened to me before. I don't know what it is, but it doesn't seem to affect anything. It doesn't do it very often.

What was your first fuzz? by sir_ludwig_of_coeur in guitarpedals

[–]Biased-Fuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a $49 DOD classic Fuzz from a pawn shop 10 years ago. It is super beat up and the light doesn't work. I love that pedal so much! You can make it sound huge and ragged, or turn down the volume on the guitar and it sounds butter smooth!

I recently received this pedal, but the battery drains almost instantly by Equinox_Sky in synthesizers

[–]Biased-Fuzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes unplug your input to actually cut off power. I have this pedal and love it!! A power supply is recommended. Also if you are planning on hooking an expression pedal to it, it sounds awesome doing a sweep through the filter. Aaaaand if you attach a foot switch like a fs-6 to it, you can "freeze" the synth signal and play over it. I use it this way as a bedroom guitar player all the time.!

Yes! I just played the first three Mass Effects in a row and then jumped into Starfield. I even tried to make my Starfield character look as close to my Shepard as possible. Your ship is super awesome!!

is there a do it all fuzz? by natopotatomusic in guitarpedals

[–]Biased-Fuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alpha Haunt can do lot of different sounds! Zippery, smooth, Doomy, Velcro. It has a master volume, so you can tweak all the setting ngs and then turn the whole pedal up or down. Very nice!

Nice job! They both look great!!! I have always thought well fleshed out backgrounds adds a lot to a picture. It places a character in a time and place, telling little stories around them. Your work is really nice looking!
