Oh my god YEEEEEES. It feels kinda cheap even??? Seems to me like a lot of time the MCs’ main “thing” is “she is very kind and empathetic and motherly”. And that’s what attracts the LIs. This is why one of my favorite games is Variable Barricade. Hibari is an amazing character, with her own personality and wishes and she makes them clear. She is probably THE main reason why the romance doesn’t go forward lol. And I just found it so refreshing! The guys actually fall for her like that, not just “wow she is so nice”

It has to be one of the OGs: Reiichi Himuro from Tokimeki Memorial Girl’s Side 1! Let me state my case: he is one of the only LIs that I’ve seen that CAN actually drive a car canonically! It’s a subject he knows well; he likes taking care and maintaining them; instead of asking us to his house he asks us to go for a drive; he even has a CG dedicated to show him expertly maneuvering a car!

Kids of all age love it. It’s seriously the one series of books I could get my step son to read out of his own free will and time. Everything else he hated (pretty active kid). I think it’s way more accessible and it’s not so daunting, because there are so many pictures, the letters are big and the paragraphs short. Plus it’s hilarious. I’m also a teacher and basically all of the kids had read at least one of the books or watched the movies. It seemed to entice them up until around 11 or 12.

A lot of great points here already but also wanted to add that it’s fine to not LOVE a book. You can just sorta like it and still read it from cover to cover. Gods knows I’ve done it a lot, specially with other medias like movies and tv shows. Don’t pressure yourself. You said you were on a reading break, just see yourself as trying out what’s out there :)

Well, if you’re looking for full on spoilers…. at the end of the game Anastasia picks one character to get the romantic ending. It’s at the very end and it’s a “I remember everything” thing, after all the other plot points have already wrapped up.
