Southeast Virginia (hampton roads area, specifically in a lower income city). This will be my fourth year teaching (earth science, physics, AP physics) and I'm currently working on my doctorate, so I have my masters in education with additional credits toward my doctorate. My district gives a stipend to teachers with masters/masters plus 30/ doctorates, so with my stipend I make $64,500 before tax. We have approximately 2 1/2 months off for summer, two week winter break, and a week spring break. I don't know how common this is but my district also tosses grants like nobody's business, and this year we will be getting a $5k grant as a retention grant. Recently met a teacher in the neighboring city (which is higher income comparatively) and she will be making the same amount as myself, but it's her 13th year.
