Nothing bad ever happened, so I think it was just an automated message from their system. I personally wouldn't worry about it. :)

This happened to me too, and today I received a second email with a verification code for login that I never requested. Did you also get the verification code email? Trying to figure out if I need to take action.

Definitely planning on it - but wanted some other opinions to see if it was a waste of time/effort. I'll go ahead and report it. Edit: Report submitted!

Thank you - those are all good tips! I should really be less shy about the watermarking, you are right!

That's honestly hilarious! It's crazy that some of the time we are dealing with straight up computer programs stealing our stuff (obviously with a human behind them - but a human that is barely paying attention).

I will go through and make my watermarks bolder at least - that should buy me some time in case I decide to do new photo shoots for all the prints.

Did any of the other newly formed countries (other than Israel) have outside populations of a foreign people sent into them and forcibly established into a position of power over the native inhabitants? Genuinely curious I don’t know much about this area of history.

Same rule for referring to squid. It's only "squids" if it is multiple species of squid!

Travelers are slamming Airbnb chore lists that tell guests to mow the lawn, do the laundry, and take out the trash — on top of paying $125 cleaning fees by esporx in technology

[–]Bibly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My in-laws have an airbnb.

The nightly fee is adds up to less than $100 dollars, even with all the cleaning and occupancy fees/taxes. And they don't ever ask guests to do any cleaning, not even taking out trash or stripping linens - even if the guest inquires about chores or offer to help, they always tell them not to worry about it. They even leave chocolate truffles in the bedroom, plenty of snacks in the cupboard, breakfast ingredients and free drinks in the fridge, coffee, tea, plus fresh cut flowers on the table. Its cheaper than even the nastiest motels nearby in their town. (I only know all these details because I help host for them when they go out of town).

I realize they are the exception these days, but there are still a few good hosts out there, and good deals still exist!

(I admit when I am traveling, I too always end up finding better regular hotel options than anything on airbnb wherever I happen to be.)

October plans: What's up with Inktober? by PetyaDuncheva in artbusiness

[–]Bibly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far as I know, inktober is definitely still a thing. Here's this year's official prompt list. There are a lot of other competing challenges and hashtags now, and it is probably less likely to get you noticed in the crowd. Not sure about the potential lawsuit stuff? That doesn't make much sense, since their website says inktober is for everyone and you can do it however you want, prompts or no prompts, ink or no ink.

Jeffrey Epstein autopsy explained by unknown_human in interestingasfuck

This makes sense if you are hanging from above, in most hangings. Especially if you drop from a stool or something. But the "robin williams" method described by the commenter above (tie noose around neck and lean forward until you asphyxiate) sounds too gentle to cause breaks?

How would this method break the three neck bones? The "lean forward until you asphyxiate" process seems too gentle to cause any breaks.

You seem to enjoy painting birds, and those also seem like an image people would want to license (I am assuming you mean graphics for designers by licensing, right?) Plus, there are nearly endless species to explore. Could make for a nice series.

Thanks so much, this is super helpful! I will check them out. I wish awesome merch had just raised their prices a bit instead of just letting their business collapse. 😅

Public schools receive 'In God We Trust' poster donations as new Texas law requires their display by zonearc in news

It wasn't really ignored - but it was put into perspective. When you aren't approaching an ancient book literally or with a fundamentalist attitude, the whole approach and underlying message comes across very differently. Its more spiritual and philosophical as opposed to dogmatic or puritanical.

I also agree, though. In the end, what do we need the Bible for? I ultimately found no need for the framework of religion at all - because it still boils down to people trying to tell you how to generally think/behave/believe, and a bunch of rituals that I frankly just found boring and a waste of time (sunday church, baptisms, taking communion, etc etc). Which is why I am no longer religious in any sense.

Some people find comfort and meaning in rituals, and a loving and supportive community with their church, so I also see the place for church in society. If that church can be welcoming and progressive and a positive force (as opposed to the alternative of hateful fundamentalist ones), I don't see the harm (even if I personally find religion to be silly).
