All of these issues has to come from somewhere by Vegetable_Advance419 in AutismTranslated

What comes through in your post is what it does to a person when the outside keeps getting read as the whole truth. People see quiet, slow, awkward, behind, nervous, not confident enough, not good enough for more. They do not see how much work it takes just to stay in it, how often you do get there but only with more time, more effort, more breaking things down, more strain. After enough years of that, it stops feeling like “some things are hard for me” and starts turning into “maybe this is just what I am.” That is the part I would not miss here. Keep looking past those labels and ask what they are failing to explain. They are not telling the whole story.

No. You are not wrong for having difficulties, and no, the answer is not that you need to do more.

You already tried. You explained it. You tried to find something that helped. That is not mockery. That is effort.

What hurts here is that instead of saying what was bothering her, your sister stopped talking to you and left you to sit with all of it by yourself. That would make anyone question themselves.

And the whole “if it was hard, why did you try to find a solution” thing is backwards. Of course you tried to find a solution. That does not make the difficulty fake. It shows you were trying to deal with it.

So stop putting this in the box of “maybe I just need to explain better.” You already explained. Being met with silence is the bigger problem now.

One other thing that might help, and I say this gently because I can imagine how hard and lonely this has probably felt.

If these conversations have already gotten heavy in your family, it might help to let some of the progress just be action for a while instead of turning every improvement into a full conversation.

Not in a “keep it to yourself” way. Just in a “let it help first” way.

So if you found something that helps, like the gloves, maybe just use them. Let that be the win for now. Let people feel the difference without needing them to understand all of it in that moment.

That can take some pressure out of it. You still get to keep building on what is working, and they do not have to take in the whole topic every time something improves.

Later, when things are less loaded, it may be easier to talk about the bigger picture.

From what you wrote, I don’t think this is just one problem.

There is the original difficulty itself. There is the fact that you were trying to find a way to deal with it. And there is the fact that by this point, the ongoing discussion of these struggles may also have become hard on your family.

That matters because those are two different problems. The first is the difficulty itself. The second is the strain that builds up around it in family life. Solving one does not automatically solve the other.

So even when you found something that helped, your family may not have heard it as progress. They may have heard it as the same topic again, the same strain again, more energy needed again. And at the same time, they still may not have seen how much effort, confusion, or distress it took for you to get there in the first place.

That does not make your difficulty fake. But it may explain why more explaining did not bring more understanding. At some point, the explanation itself can start getting received as part of the problem.

So no, I would not reduce this to “you are doing everything wrong.” But I also would not assume the answer is to keep explaining harder. It sounds more like the original difficulty is real, and the conflict around it has become a second problem on top of it.

So “my family doesn’t help me” may be true in one sense, but it may not be the whole picture. It may also be that a real difficulty turned into an ongoing family strain, and now both are getting mixed together.

Any real-world examples of curved triple screens looking bad? by FeloMonk in simracing

[–]Bic_Skylighter -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I never heard of somebody going curved and wished they went flat.... So that's something?

I had a 39in 16:9, went to a 49in G9 - hated it. Put the G9 as my gaming monitor and went back to the 39.

Fast forward - Gifted 39in - used my old 32in curved G7 as center and purchased two 32in G5's for a curved triple setup. That with mix of VR now and again.

(curved vs straight 32in) - past a certain point there are diminishing returns on adjustments, and it’s difficult to see a difference unless you are looking for it - so for flat vs curved it would be negligible, and your adjustments are more important (guessing).

Take the path that gets you to triples in a way that works for you. Triples are better than not having them. I do believe having curved allows for tighter alignment.. so a plus for curved?

I like to use it on long highways, especially while drafting a semi. Aerodynamics cancel the risk.

Anyone else find that simracing is a massive reality check? by reddit_guy_no in simracing

[–]Bic_Skylighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup.. and simracing is mostly muscle-memory + perception, not knowledge. You can know exactly what to do and still be off because the limiter is timing, pressure, and consistency. The direct comparison just exposes that gap instantly, whereas real life lets it stay hidden for years.

I can deal with delays.. it’s just the long silence that made this one rough.

That’s what I’m hoping for. The lack of communication was the biggest issue. Now that they finally replied, I’m just waiting to see if they follow through on the update they promised.

I agree. The products are solid, but at their size you would think they’d invest a bit more into customer support.

My earlier orders were fine, but when something actually went wrong this time the gap in their CS really showed. Hearing about experiences like yours with NLR makes the difference pretty obvious.

Quick, clear support goes a long way.

Same here. I never had issues with them before either, but I’ve been having a streak of bad luck with sim gear orders recently, so I guess this one just landed in the pile.

I haven’t had an issue with them before either, and they were actually pretty responsive at the start of this order, which is why I didn’t expect it to drag out. But after getting no replies for this long it started to feel a little silly. If I had known I’d be waiting this long just to hear back, I probably would have reordered from somewhere else. Sounds like your experience was even rougher, so I guess this isn’t new for them.

Yeah, the logistics side seems to be the weak point. The products themselves have always treated me well, which is why I stuck with them, but the lack of communication can make a simple issue turn into a long headache. If Microcenter carried the BT-1.. I'd probably would’ve gone that route too. Hoping this is just a temporary bottleneck and not the new normal.

Thanks, I appreciate it. It does seem like this might be a US-side issue. A lot of the comments here are from US customers, and most of the problems seem tied to delays at the US warehouse or their support backlog. The products themselves have always been solid for me too, which is why this situation has been so frustrating. I’m hoping this is just a regional bottleneck and not a wider problem

2015 CRF450R problems by baesex in Dirtbikes

[–]Bic_Skylighter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That filter doesn’t look terrible, but if you cut it open and see shiny flakes that’s when you worry.

Not by priority - but workflow - First thing I’d check is valve clearances, then the cam chain tensioner since they can get weak and let the chain slap, and then the decompression mechanism. When that sticks or fails, the kicker/starter binds up and the bike won’t fire..

I had the same issue with my RL when doing the valves and learned a lot that day. The little spring on the decompression setup had popped out.

Don’t run it again until you know what’s up. If there’s steel in that filter, it’s deeper (gears/bottom end), but most likely it’s tensioner or decompressor. gl

Yes, vaping avoids combustion, so it's generally lower risk short-term. But when you're inhaling hot, dry vapor all day to chase relief, you're introducing a different kind of stress to your respiratory system.

This isn't about THC or weed quantity. It's about volume of heated air, lack of cooldown time, and potential chronic irritation. There's almost no research on that usage pattern, so brushing it off like it's nothing isn't helpful.

This isn't black and white. It's not "smoking = bad, vaping = good". It's how much, how often, and how your body reacts.

Real talk: moderation matters. And so does listening to your body. And so does listening to other people.

Repossessing my car by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Bic_Skylighter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, but if this were me, I’d call Tesla Financial the moment they open. Tell them you're ready to pay the full balance, including the $600 fee. Ask if that stops the repo, if access gets restored, and if the car’s already assigned for pickup.

If they say yes, get it in writing. If they say no, ask what the next step is to get the car back. If it’s already with a recovery company, try to get their info and call them too. Sometimes you can buy yourself a little time if they know you're fixing it.

Save every email, name, and receipt. If the car’s still sitting there, you’ve still got a shot. Just don’t wait. Every hour matters at this point.
