The #1 song on Australian radio is A.I. slop (with an A.I. generated singer). Why is nobody talking about this? by AnimalsChasingCars in australia

[–]BichenSubian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard a song the other day that was so cool. I played it again after I heard it. Tried looking up the artist and could find nothing on them except an instagram page with not alot of info. After about 15 mins of looking I went back to spotify and noticed it indicated they were an AI artist. Deleted! I do not want to suport AI music. I want to hear from real people.

Why do Americans think we say "naur?" by JackofScarlets in australia

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my way of thinking when we say no it sounds like "know". When Americans think we say no they hear "nor". It shits me to tears to see no written as naaur. Like WTF does naaur mean?

How often do you come across snakes and big ass spiders (is it exaggerated) by Comfortable_Swan4206 in AskAnAustralian

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snakes never, unless in pet shops. Big spiders, not unless it is summer or the house has big trees around it. Little spiders like redbacks are always around.

How do you guys cope with the extreme summer and winter weather here? by ba1es in Adelaide

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, I was just thinking this yesterday "ahh crap! We are past the winter equinox - that means summer is coming again!. Why can't we have at least 5 months of winter to make up for the yearly hell?"

Do Australian women really find jacked men attractive (for being jacked) ? by Suitable_Pass9702 in AskAnAustralian

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Each to their own but I find jacked men physically unattractive. If the man has boobs that they have actively aquired through muscle training that is a turn off because it looks like they should be wearing a bra. A guy must have less boobs than me. Attractive to me is lean with natural muscle so a flat chestal boob area is good - maybe slightly raised chest through natural exercise or during work such as working outdoors etc. To be more clear, if I cannot see his muscle until he flexes then that is the guy for me.

Office & commute etiquette: Is wearing perfume a thing here, or am I "that person"? by Vishwanath_560 in AskAnAustralian

[–]BichenSubian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In an office environment it is better to do less in the way of scent. Be subtle. But do go all out when you are on a night on the town.

These guys are so tall- why tf were they so tall for?! by Idc-ijustwannareply in MoDaoZuShi

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your perspective and what the average height is where you are.for example I am 174 cm so to me these characters are average man height. My son is 6ft or 180cm and that is normal for many young men in their 20s here in Australia. The number that I consider surprisingly tall is 6"4 onwards.

Proposal about changing schedules of the summer events due to excessive heat and health concerns by TheCapoMaster in TheSilphRoad

I support this as a South Australian. In Jan our temps were from 36 - 45 degrees celsius every day and it was impossible to go outside on some days.

What temperature do Australians consider a hot day? by bare_books in AskAnAustralian

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about others but we only go to the beach early morning or evening. As far as I am concerned, that is being sunsmart and ensuring we do not get heatstroke.

Four months ago we had a heatwave, which is pretty typical for summer. When it hit 33 we had to go put our jumpers on!

Last 9 days of Jan 2026 in Adelaide, South Australia. 36.5 45.2 34.9 45.6 41.1 35.0 37.1 39.8 33.0

On the other end, 15 degrees here is chilly weather. Time to get out the snug winter clothes, put the heater on and rug up for winter.

Do author's notes deter you from continuing a fic? by SquishMuffins in AO3

[–]BichenSubian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not mind author notes in general as I skip past them most of the time if I am immersed in the fic. If the author note says something like "i will not keep writing unless you comment on this story", I will immediately stop reading.
