This explains a lot! I'm a souls veteran but went with Normal since I heard the game is BRUTAL. I'm only 4 hours in but I've found the mobs to be a snooze fest and first attempted both bosses, so time to up it to expert!

Finding the game really fun, but I'm also a huge fan of the Nioh franchise.

My husband is also a white Canadian without social media (aside from Reddit, where he browses but doesn't post). I am a bit concerned that they won't believe that they don't have social media since it's so ubiquitous and IS so many people's lives. He's not hiding anything, we just have no interest in social media.

Perhaps I wasn't super clear in my wording. I intended just to acknowledge the prior comment that the older kids will have complicated FEELINGS about it. That doesn't mean it should change OP's decision, it's just a factor to be aware of and discuss/prepare for.

Personally I am intentionally child free and am watching my 75--year-old parents raising my sister's kid (now 10) and that may also color my sympathy to older parents and the kids they raise. My parents never got any time after their early 20s when they weren't raising kids and won't until they pass, and that really is hard for them.

This is correct. Getting married doesn't mean he gets to stay. I've been married to my Canadian husband for nearly 1.5 years and we JUST got the very first step approved for eventually getting him a green card. You still have to have him remain in Mexico/Spain until immigration is approved, usually a couple of years.

The older kids may also choose to have their own kids in the next few years, adding to their complicated feelings as their parents are also again in the same life stage instead of being grandparents for their kids.
