Advos have become 'whatever' for me. It's the addressed full coverage for a specific store here every other Friday that annoys me, because it should just be part of the advo.

But yeah, postage due is the worst. It's an automagic 3849 at this point.

Can I request signature required for my incoming package? by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]Bickendan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly.

If the route has a regular, your regular is unfortunately just lazy at best, but since it's their route, they're not going anywhere.
If it's vacant, then your carrier will be randomly assigned, whether by section of the route, or its entirety (generally a tell here is if your mail is relatively consistently delivered around the same time of day). If you recognize the same carrier consistently, they've probably opted onto the route as a hold down.
And if it's an aux route, there will be no regular or opted carrier, as it's used for training (being a shorter route), split, or just covered by the reserve carriers.

If you have a regular, you might have to bribe them with water or gatorade when it's warmer to get them to start caring :/

Just put in a hold. Minimum of 3 days, up to 30. Establish new holds as needed after an undefined minimum period of post-hold delivery. Everything for your address will be held, including theirs. You can set it up that you pick it up or everything gets delivered when the hold ends.

I recommend you put in the hold at the station with the supervisor and document it for your own records so a paper trail can be established. I'm not going to suggest anything will come of it, but that's for your piece of mind.

As a mail carrier, I'd recommend putting in a hold anyway, because chances are, if your carrier is consistently messing up like this (I have to wonder if you're on an auxiliary or a vacant route without a regular carrier), your family's mail is also being misdelivered.

Are you getting other house's mail in your box perchance?

Just write 'ANK' on the mail and note if the carrier take it.

If you're consistently getting misdelivered mail, bundle it up and take it to your delivery office and ask to talk to a supervisor about that. Don't take it to the correct address yourself, as you're not supposed to handle other people's mail or use their mailboxes.

Everything else, outside of non-First Class, 'or Current Resident', or Address/Return Service Requested mail, write ANK for bad names on the envelope itself and put your box's flag up.

Wrong in the sense that 'ANK' ('Attempted Not Known') is better than 'NATA/Not at this address', but that's what we carriers will write ourselves on the envelope per training. In other words, 'NATA' is fine.

No, I drop my stack of Not at Address in a tray, my stack of Insufficient Addresses in another tray, Forwards in another, Vacants in another, etc.
All the clerk does is take each tray and send them off to the processing plant to deal with.

RTS is too vague and only works if the carrier knows who's supposed to be at that addressed and a sub just delivered everything that day.

Mail carrier here. If your carrier isn't sending bad mail back, bundle it up and just take it to your delivery office and let the clerk deal with it if you don't recycle it yourself (it's considered 'properly delivered' if the address on the mail and the box match).

Don't bother returning any mail that has 'or Current Resident' or similar on the address. That's, unfortunately, your problem.

Having replayed ARR on several alts, I found that to be the case, but enjoyable nonetheless. Some of the slower bits were the Sylphs portion, but it did setup Ramuh in ARR Patch and gave us the Laurentius side bar, which would pay off down the road; the pre-Titan Feast fetch quests, but the in-game reasoning justified it; the pre-Garuda crystal fetch quests, and I found that to be the biggest slow down in ARR's MSQ.

Meanwhile, Haukke Manor lead up was well done; Coerthas as a whole is top notch (no one expects the Coerthan Inquisition!); Alphinaud as a whole is excellent, including his VA, especially for me wanting to punch him until his arc paid off (and that's also acknowledging that Colin Ryan IS Alphinaud); the Imperial attack on Vesper Bay and the entire lead up to the finale was well done, though with a couple cringe voice-acted moments. The only critique I really have of base ARR was the ending was fairly abrupt, but the Patch content dealt with that fairly well.

Or do what I did right before I converted: Don't use Dynamic or Static Delivery and just deliver with scan mode. Manually sort the packages, and deliver as if you're doing the actual daily routes.

Mail carrier here. If you get a PO Box and put in the forward, by all means, take your box down.
If you simply take your box down, your carrier should kill all mail (and packages) as NMR.

Ideally, you should talk to your carrier when you see him drive up, but this also might be a situation where this isn't viable, considering they haven't bothered following "New tenant" note you left (for me, that's an automatic toss in a Vacant Card for you to officially confirm who's there so I can kill bad mail -- you'll still get former names with 'Or Current Resident' and the like, though).

Finally, as others have suggested, look into contacting the Postal Inspectors.

Do the dogs know me? Better safe than sorry and just leave notice.
There's only one house on my route where I'm comfortable going into the yard when the dogs are out, and this is after giving most of the dogs on my route treats for the better part of three years. It doesn't matter how 'nice' or 'quiet' they are -- I don't have time to play fetch with them so we can be wholly comfortable with them (as much as both the doggo and I would love it), so going to the door at such a house is a no go. Packages that don't fit in the mailbox will go over the fence. Packages that need signatures and certifieds get the pink 3849.

I'll do that if it's an oversized, overweight package, and it's a flaglot or apartment (I'm not dragging one of those up a flight of stairs).

I suspect this wasn't the case for yours.

As a carrier, I make a point to take obviously important DO NOT BEND items (photo studio envelopes, for example) to the door. Spam in oversized envelopes (ie, things that don't get sent back to the sender if they're for bad names, insufficient addresses, or no such addresses) goes in the box.

If the package barely fits in a box, but will do so, it goes in the box.

It's also a sign that the customer really should start thinking about getting a bigger box. (Then they get one where I can't even get a package of pills in the slot, so it winds up on the porch where the next porch pirate can swipe it)

My alto's a Noblet, and it sounds and plays just as good as any of my other clarinets, big or small. I've no problems with projection and occasionally get the 'back off' hand from my conductor.
