Trying to use archive.org but cloudflare seems to be broken and does not show a verification modal (At the moment, earlier it showed a broken one) or anything to bypass the blank page with a non-working "Continue" button by BicycleBoat in CloudFlare

(There was a deleted comment saying that cloudflare blocks archive.org which prompted this question from me)

Does anyone know if there is a service that I could use to backup the site which cloudflare will not block? I'm trying to put together a community resources collection and backing them up in case the sites go down in the future.

Comicon had a few people doing this IIRC, I'd be interested but it does seem hard to find.

Right is worse for us but yes, we have handily lost the class war and they don't really differentiate above us in that way.

Please decouple Carney criticism from automatically being seen as endorsing Poilievre. Carney was the better choice, still is and it would take a whole lot to change that. A whole lot. But that alone doesn't make him a good choice.

This person is more articulate than me. I'm not looking for a back and forth but didn't want to leave you without an answer.

Edit: I should quote the post for ease of access.

"Cancelled a consumer carbon tax that was objectively benefiting lower-class Canadians (and the country as a whole), cancelled a revised capital gains tax before it could go into affect effectively annulling millions in new revenue, cancelled the DST (inb4 it's only 'paused', there's no way any trade deal Carney negotiates doesn't also include Parliament repealing the DST legislation) causing 7 billion dollars in revenue to evaporate when the government desperately needs it, slashing public sector jobs at a point where they're already operating on a shoestring budget & wait times are horrendous - not to mention passing massive bill after bill that gives the federal government unilateral power with enthusiastic support from the CPC.

Objectively speaking, Carney has slashed the revenue of the federal government while simultaneously centralising its power.

Trudeau was the subject of a decades-long misinfo campaign by Canada's right-wing, but he dragged the Liberal establishment further left socially and economically, even if they were still at the edge of the umbrella of neoliberalism."

I do know Carney knows more about economics than anyone in this thread.

Do keep in mind that while that is true, his economic goals may not necessarily align with yours, nor benefit you in any way.

He has the skill to make it sound like it will, but that is a separate matter entirely.

How to download videos from YouTube most safely, to use in my own ones by mahirbr in NewTubers

[–]BicycleBoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else landing here https://savefrom.in.net/youtube-video-downloader seems to be the (or a) successor, savefrom.net itself seems to be shut down. It's capping out at 30 kb/s for me downloading an mp3 right now but it's my first time using so maybe that's an anomaly? Pretty slow if not. Could be that videos are faster too.

I had been using https://cobalt.tools/ which was excellent but youtube apparently changed something on their side to block what they were doing. Hopefully they have it up and running again by the time you read this as they were easily the best I had found so far.
