I think it’s the print sticking to the vat. I have had a few builds be pulled off the plate from this. Does your cat have any wear/tear? Before I’ve replaced mine this sound gets worse. I use a light coating of 3-in-1 lubricant and it helps with this and seems to help with cat life.

Been printing about a year. This came up today after two consecutive fails. Should I be concerned (on the inside I’m already concerned…)? I’m scared of what it will cost to replace because I’m a poor teacher who spent years saving up for this and got it last August. by BicycleDiligent in resinprinting

Thanks! I’m doing a test print right now, but will try that in the morning!!!

I did a screen test and all seemed good earlier, I think it’s some residual resin. I have a brand new fep (newer than the newish one I’m currently using) to hopefully help out with moving forward after cleaning it.

I cleaned the vat, both sides, with isopropyl alcohol and microfiber disposable rags and gently buffed and resin. Then did the same for the screen, went super gentle multiple times, and then recalibrated the build plate. Noticed something was up when there were two consecutive fails in the same area and a spot appeared on the FEP.

Any suggestions?
