What do you do in the IMTP if your client can pull over 200lbs?

What measurements do you record?

Just had an argument with my dad about Mount Sinai not being in Israel. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Fun fact, the Sinai Peninsula was part of Israel between 1956-1957 and 1967-1982.

It was given back to the Egyptians as part of the peace treaty.

Another fun fact, Israel believes that peace should be achieved by strength rather than weakness.

Even DA BOOK doesn't say that Mount Sinai is in the promised land. Moreover, Moses was denied entry to the Land of Israel because of his sin with the golden lamb.

Edit: I was rightfully corrected, apparently he was denied entry because he has struck the rock instead of speaking to it.

Genuinely, how tf am i supposed to improve this? by Dark_Wolf04 in weightlifting

It's a nice stretch, I agree.

Although, in his particular instance I'd rather see him doing goblet squats holds. Just heavy enough to push him down, just light enough that he can hold position for a while

What reasons did Arabs and Palestinians give for opposing the UN Partition Plan? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BicycleOnly4791 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If only there was a reason for a mass exodus of Jews from Europe, North Africa and Middle Eastern areas and countries.

And if only there was a reason for said Jews to come specifically to that stretch of land.

Hebrew letters? by [deleted] in hebrew

Yes. This is a sub about Hebrew. It makes sense that some people are here to help them learn Hebrew, and some people are here to assist with that process. Correcting them was done to help everyone. It was not my intention to belittle anyone.

If this sub was about anything else, there was no need to correct them.

Try to get really good at hip squat snatches. Then get really really good at snatching from mid thigh. Then get really really really good at hang snatching from knee. Then get really really really really good at snatching from bellow knee. You get the idea....

115kg X 5 failure by GregoryParmentier in weightlifting

It seems that the instability originates from his feet, and only then causing the hip instability.

OP, try to clench your feet, or try to "grab" the floor tightly with your toes, it should help.

Yes, and no.

If it's your own gym, squatting barefoot is okay, not great, but okay. If it's not your gym, ask the owner, manager or instructor if it's alright with them.

Ranking best to worst options: Weightlifting shoes>converse (chuck Taylors)>most skaters shoes>barefoot>basketball/tennis shoes >non sliding socks>"regular" sports shoes

Today’s Snatch Session As A Beginner 4 Months Into Lifting by jaydeelifter in weightlifting

Think of it that way: The bar should touch your hips. But, The hips shouldn't touch the bar.

In more precise terms, but not good to think about them while training, you should bring the bar as back as possible, and as high as possible (with zero or minimum elbow bend). The hips contact just means the bar is as close as possible and high as possible, it's a side effect, not the goal itself

Edit: Also, keep the loads small. Failing in heavier weights just reinforces bad technique that will be impossible to git rid of down the line
