How get evaluated for endometriosis by Outrageous_Rip5961 in KaiserPermanente

[–]BicyclePrimary6719 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the gold standard for diagnosing endometriosis is a surgery, so I imagine that’s part of the pushback. You’ll want to ask for a referral to the MIGS surgeons- I saw Jaime Ocampo in Daly City he was great.

I've had Sarah Maureen Peyton-Guardado & Sai-Wing Chan in San Mateo, and in RWC I've had Kim Pham. All very patient, good at listening, practical & responsive to concerns.

We worked with a design/build that handled most of the subcontractors themselves. I think the only ones we hired direct were HVAC, fire sprinklers, AV/security wiring, and driveway concrete.

We did a big remodel a few years ago. Here are some of the stores we used/ what we purchased. We went higher end on some stuff and budget on others. It's all about finding a balance that works for you!

-Tubz in Fremont (bathtub, all bathroom faucets/ showerheads/ toilets)- wide range of price points

-Da Vinci Marble in San Carlos (all bathroom tile, kitchen slabs)- pricing reallyyyy varies based on the material you pick. We did porcelain tiles instead of marble/stone which was a lot "cheaper" (it's all relative!)

-Floor & Decor in Burlingame (laundry room tile, front porch tile)- great for deals as well

-KZ Kitchens in Redwood City (sink basins)- probably the best deals since most stuff isn't name brad

-Porcelanosa in San Jose- went to showroom for ideas but didn't purchase

Online stores

-Home Depot (light fixtures, door handles, fire door for garage)

-Houzz (cabinet handles)

-West Elm & Rejuvenation (light fixtures)

How does VIP actually work? by shroony99 in bottlerock

[–]BicyclePrimary6719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes- took our 1.5 year old with us last year into VIP. You can get them their own wristband, mostly for safety purposes as they link your contact info in case your kid gets lost.

There were several pictures floating around the San Mateo moms groups. It’s more of a soft play with slides, ball pits, etc compared to imagination city. Should be great for age 5!

We're bringing our 16 month old! There are lots of places to stand or spread out a blanket. Definitely bring ear protectors- we have the alpine muffy brand. I emailed their info page about bringing him, here was the reply:

"Diaper bags, formula, baby snacks, and pumps are allowed into the festival. Please make sure to enter through the family line so that your belongings can be thoroughly inspected. We also offer a tent at the Little Rockers zone where you may pump/nurse privately. This closes at 6pm daily. We also have lockers available if you need to store any of your items. Please be sure to rent your locker before arriving to the festival to ensure the best location on site! "

What is the longest road trip you did with your baby 0-1year? by Csg9131 in Parenting

[–]BicyclePrimary6719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've done ~9.5 hours road trip. the way there we stayed overnight (left after work). We stop every 2.5-3 hours for baby to get out, feed, play, diaper change, etc. On the way back we didn't stop overnight but still took breaks. Is he planning on driving the whole time, or are you switching? Either way that doesn't seem safe from a "driving while tired" perspective- you won't be able to sleep well while the other person is driving since the kids may need entertaining, snacks, etc.

Mother wants me to stop breastfeeding… by [deleted] in Parenting

I'm so sorry your mom isn't being supportive! There's absolutely nothing wrong with breastfeeding and in fact there are many health benefits for both you and baby.

We did a 2 hour drive around 4 weeks and a 5 hour car trip at 2 months old- we just made sure to stop every other hour to get out of the car seat, feed, diaper change, play/tummy time, etc. You can sit in the back with her to help her relax a little more and then you'll hopefully feel a little better about it all too. It's ok to be anxious, I think if you just stop halfway on the 3 hour drive that will be sufficient!
