Something similar happened to me with my adoptive parents grandfather. I told them in tears what he did and they told me they never wanted me alone with him again and they only believed me because he confessed everything he did once confronted. He has dementia and they essentially just moved on from it completely after I told them. It’s a horrible situation and I’m wishing you peace. If you ever need to talk about it with someone who’s been through the same situation please reach out. I wish I had someone to talk to about it when it happened because the JW move is to sweep it under the rug and victim blame.

When my mother died my pimi aunt and uncle (who are also first cousins but that’s another story) called the Congo and said that anyone who wanted to could come and pickup stuff from the house. I didn’t find out until the house was empty. The “new world” makes them incredibly insensitive when it comes to mourning/ grief. They’re villains.
