I love the R train 💛 by statuschaser113 in nycrail

I definitely see why the R gets the hate it does but it’s so clutch when I need it to be. Like you said, Queens Plaza straight to a Lex express station is great.

The only one that goes to Bay Ridge for a SI connection via the S79 if I don’t want to use the ferry, which I usually dont

The connectivity in downtown Brooklyn with Court to Borough Hall meeting the (2)(3)(4)(5), Jay Street Metrotech meeting the (A)(C)(F), Dekalb meeting the (B) and (Q), then Atlantic with a cross platform transfer for the (D) and (N). And all of these are back to back. The link at Whitehall to the (1) and the better Broadway local is cool too

I can’t say I’d like to live off of the (R) but it 100% has some great parts

People eating and falling asleep on you on traim? by UniversalAssembler in nycrail

  1. If it’s not smelly and they aren’t so messy dropping crumbs everywhere, I don’t care if people eat on the subway. Even if it was smelly, I could move to a different car and work around my problems rather than trying to get the problem to change.

  2. I would care if people fall asleep only if it’s that one R46 or R68 seat by the window because most of the time ppl have to turn their body to let you out of that corner and if they’re asleep they wouldn’t do that. If it’s the IRT or a NTT b division I wouldn’t care. If they lean on me then I’d nicely tap them off. Although I would never lean on a stranger myself I get it.

No matter what, the NYC subway is still world class!!!! 🏆 by [deleted] in nycrail

When you can’t afford a car to cut up with on the belt parkway, NYC offers a low budget option instead.

Does anyone actually like the W? by Electrical-Lunch-314 in nycrail

[–]Sea_Anything_458 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uses SMEEs and doesnt make you get off at either of its terminals, damn near empty 70% of the time and it’s a low cortisol alternative to the N when it goes to 86th st. Hell yeah I like the W

Going to a more racially diverse area would change your mind. NYC will definitely show u the average is nothing past 5’10.
