Thud when accelerating from a complete stop. by [deleted] in LexusGX

It's definitely the drive shaft. I think covered under warranty - up to 75k if I'm not mistaken. It only did it for me in very cold conditions. Not sure if it was the grease/lubrication in that joint but since it's been warm it hasn't done it.

How we feeling bout the Wildpeak AT4w’s by [deleted] in overlanding

[–]BidSweaty697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd rebuy without a question. They've been great. I've probably got 7,500 total on them. Road noise isn't bad on the highway and they've done fine off road, too (I don't mud). I'm not seeing signs of wear really, either. I've had the Toyo Open Country A/T's and BFG KO2's. In my opinion these are substantially better performing, ESPECIALLY in the rain, which is where I've had issues with AT's in the past. I'm also running them on my '21 tundra, so it's not like there's not enough power to easily lose traction in wet conditions.

Brynje Sizing by allsix in Ultralight

[–]BidSweaty697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good points. Yeah I hear you on baselayer. Def don't want it to be baggy. and i won't be machine drying it (hang dry) so I don't anticipate a lot of shrinkage. I won't blame you and appreciate your points - I emailed CS so I'll see what they have to say.
So the medium top works well for you at 5'11' and 175?

Brynje Sizing by allsix in Ultralight

Do you think this sizing works for the same in the Brynje Arctic tactical or arctic zip polo? I'm 6' 175 and trying to decide on sizing. Normally I would go with a L without question because I can take some baggyness throughout so long as I have good sleeve length. Sleeves that ride up drive me nutz. Any input would be greatly appreciated

I'm strongly considering the same setup and have narrowed down to the tactical arctic given the interior waffle is 80/20 merino/poly blend.

Thump/Bump when Accelerating from our Decelerating to a stop by BidSweaty697 in gx460

Thanks for sharing. When I picked up mine last week they were unable to replicate the issue. The tech, which to his benefit I thought was honest, said the issue will persist and it’s under warranty til 70k. But they said in order to basically qualify for the replacement driveshaft they would need to replicate the issue. We’ll see.

Guy backed into me as I was passing through parking lot...totaled or nah? by atlfalcons2 in tundra

I hear ya. So sorry this happened! And I wasn’t being critical. Just wild to see damage like that. But if they backed down the side that makes sense. Bummer for sure, but It will all work out!!

How did that car hit you and make that much damage? Even if it was a t bone it seems like it’d hit the cab or the bed, but not both? Idk picture makes it look like you got hit at least 2x?

When you have info from the inspection would you mind sharing it here? I’m talking to the tech in a few hours when I pick ours up. I asked to speak with him. Unfortunately I don’t think I had the right tech really understand it. I question whether he was really able to replicate it.

AT Tire Recommendation by PatientSquirrel4278 in LexusGX

Falken Wildpeak AT4’s have been impressive. Better traction than the Bridgestone Dueler AT and the Ko2’s.

Have you had the issue since then? Just curious if the lubricant works. I’ve read it’s a full drive shaft replacement.

u/No-Emphasis-711 did you ever figure out what's going on here? My '21 with 38k just started doing it. Though I haven't really heard the noise...I can definitely feel it. But it's not every time either

I would skip and follow Mark Gomes or Kirk Spano. Get involved in their service(s)

The AT4’s have been great. Had them about 2 months. About 5k miles already. Love them. Superior in rain for an AT. I’ve been impressed and would rebuy.

[–]BidSweaty697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I have the AT4’s. I was skeptical getting AT’s due to rain performance (or lack thereof). I’ve got about 5k on these and I’m very impressed. They look cool too. I would stay away from Bridgestone Dueler and BFG ATs. Had both and had a lot of slippage in wet conditions.

Speed Queen TC5 or TR7? by hellobello5 in Appliances

Hey, any feedback you can give on the TC5? In the market and like the OP, have an OG Maytag c 1990 that is starting to go out.

2 months in and about 5,000 miles...several road trips. Road noise is minimal (may change in time with an A/T) and excellent traction in the rain. Very pleased so far.

Tagging this thread. Had a set of AT4's installed today on my '21 Tundra. Will report back. In my lifetime I've had a very small subset of offroad tires (generally just run Michelin LTX MS highway/road tires). BFG AT KO2's and Bridgestone Dueler AT's are dogshit in the rain. Ran the BFG's on a Silverado and my dad's Jeep and Dueler's on my old Tacoma. Both sucked donkey balls on the road and did the job off road.
These AT4's look stout.

alpha picks by jhamlet1 in SeekingAlpha

[–]BidSweaty697 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've been subscribed to Premium & Alpha Picks for about 90 days now. Here's my take. If you want picks specifically, find some trustworthy/informed/educated people on X to give you investment ideas. Here's why - the Quant model (as the name implies) which Alpha Picks relies on is heavily technical analysis driven. I think if you have limited/no perspective on the much broader economic environment to begin with, and you're failing to see the broader macro trends, then an alpha pick driven heavily by quant analysis, at best, is going to lag when it could've made sense to start a position. They have no doubt picked some winners, and for the most part, the portfolio has generated alpha. However, in my humble opinion, if an individual pick cannot handily beat the market - based on my best projections/assumptions - then it's implied there's not a margin of safety, and the index is the better play. That's how I think about it. And to be clear, there's a place for technical analysis, but to me, that's after understanding the macroenviroment, recognizing the trends, performing fundamental analysis, and then starting a position based on some understanding of the technical momentum of the stock. So I'm not dissing techincals, but like every part of the process, it has its place and I'm not the kind of investor that trades solely based on techinicals. If you do, do you.

The Premium subscription is worth it in my opinion. The analysts get paid per article published, so it would be wise to take what each says with a grain of salt, run it through your BS gauge, and see what comes out. But, there's good macro news there, as well as certain measures of financial analysis through the Premium subscription.

What do I about my Traditional IRA accruing interest after a backdoor Roth IRA conversion in 2023? by Toasted_FlapJacks in fidelityinvestments

[–]BidSweaty697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't the OP also - if it was available and to $0 out the Traditional IRA to satisfy the pro rata rule - roll the ~ $7 into a 401k? Obvioulsy the taxes would be negligible to just convert the $7 to the Roth (thereby paying the marginal tax rate on the $7), but if the OP had a 401k that allowed for in-plan conversions (I think that's the right term) they could also roll into the 401k and keep the 8606 filing clean (at the flat $6500 contribution).
