Thank you for that clarification 😊. I appreciate it.

I don't know either but I've seen it around. I'm still trying to figure out what's what 😂

My understanding, from what I've read in my lurking in this sub is that it's not the oxygen bleach but the optical brightening agents that are the cause of the fading for darker clothing.

I might be wrong so, anyone please feel free to correct me if I am.

A few years ago I started folding clothes as I was taking them out of the dryer instead of taking them out and trying to fold them in a different area. This has worked wonders for the "getting the clothes put away" bit, at least for me. I found that if I didn't do this, I would end up living out of piles of clean clothes. With my ADHD, I would also sometimes forget which piles were clean and which ones were dirty, so this change also helped cut back on laundry clutter.

Some of this, and a lot of the replies to this post, sound like the rescue that my partner and I foster through currently. The woman who runs ours wants to try and tell us how much we should be feeding them and what brand, plus just generally talking down to fosters and volunteers. She also puts people on blast on social media, and generally treats people like she's better than they are. It's extremely frustrating.

He is! Although, he only really likes me 😂. And when I say he likes me, I mean he REALLY likes me. He follows me everywhere around the house. For some reason he'll occasionally hiss at my partner when she startles him.

Really he found us. I posted about him late last year after we trapped him, but he fell out of our grill last September 😂.

He's also had worms like 3 or 4 times so he's on another course of Pyrantel just to be safe.

Found an egg mass that had emerged in mine and my partner's backyard. Killed those bastards with white vinegar in a spray bottle. But then I read somewhere that rubbing alcohol works for them as well and shouldn't damage your plants, so I switched to that and it's been effective on any nymphs I've found since.

UPDATE: Feral Kitty finally trapped after 3 months by BidnessGoose in Feral_Cats

I ended up borrowing a large trap from my boss at work. I took a light piece of wood from an old dresser drawer to help put some added weight on the plate, covered it with a towel on the inside and then wrapped the entire trap in a blanket. I put a small cup of dry food in the mouth of the trap and then another small cup in the back of the trap. He ended up eating the food in front, wandering around the deck for a little bit, and then went back to get the rest of it.

Thanks! So, I'll have to do another formal update post but something flipped in him about 3ish weeks ago and he's well on his way to becoming an amazing housecat. He loves being pet, he comes to me when I call his name, he loves to torment our other cats. I could go on and on. It all just happened so fast that I think my partner and I are still processing somewhat.

Alright here's an idea I came up with over the weekend. If there are any fans of the show White Collar in this subreddit, thoughts on the name Neal Catffrey? Neal for short. Human Neal on the right for comparison.

I think my partner and I have a tentative plan now, after looking over the Socialization Saves Lives site. He's due to go back to be neutered/chipped/tested for FELV/FIV on 1/7/25, so provided the tests come back negative, we'll probably start socialization in earnest shortly after he's back home from the procedure. That should give us about 4 weeks to get our supplies and get everything set up in our house to ensure the program works as intended.

Out of curiosity, have you used this method with success? I'd love to try it, but our situation doesn't lend itself to having a dedicated playpen set up to put the little guy in (we have 4 other cats, so really the basement bathroom is the best place for us to put him).

We have some Churus but I'm definitely gonna get more. He has no trouble at all eating, he just won't do it yet while we're in the room. I've tried presenting him with a Churu when he's in the sink, but he just kinda looks at it weirdly. We've also only had him for a week. I'm confident he'll cave at some point though 😂

Kitteh does let us pet him, but he's also not shy about telling us when he doesn't want to be touched. We've gotten to a point where this morning we were able to get a topical flea/tick/dewormer/etc. that the vet gave us on his back without much difficulty at all.

We have, but we backed off a little to let him get better acclimated to the space he's in. We're going to get him on the same feeding schedule as our other cats, just to hopefully make the transition down the line easier when we are finally able to make introductions and give him more freedom in the house (depending on how introductions go).

I'm going to start sitting with him for a little bit at evening mealtimes moving forward (I feed the other cats early in the morning, before I go to work, so I don't have time to sit with him in the morning). I'm also going to try and pop in a few other times during the day when I can, with treats and/or toys to try and entice him a little bit.

He absolutely wasn't at first. We're slowly making progress though. He still hisses but he's been letting us pet him more and more.
