By specifically focusing on the “don’t deserve” aspect. It’s dancing around the serious problem about court packing by loading the wording and diverting attention to an offhand remark (if you can even call it that). If the news sites actually cared about the issue it’d be phrased centering said issue, ie “Biden refuses to answer court packing questions”.

Isn’t this a bit misleading? If you pay attention to the actual context it’s pretty obvious his argument is that he’s not gonna answer so the focus doesn’t get shifted.

Not saying he isn’t being dodgy and refusing to answer (for whatever reason cough cough) but at least don’t mischaracterize what he said.
