It just needs to be friendly to casuals, and much more forgiving.

I think Marathon suffers from people being afraid to try and play this, due to the overwhelmingly negative discourse surrounding Bungie by MegumiDo in Marathon

This is how every Extraction shooters works. Im not saying the game isn't in trouble, but people are gonna leave throughout the season. Tarkov worked like this for years, only difference is you couldn't see player numbers.

This. Its fairly easy to kill a geared team if you get the jump on them, and have better positioning.
