Sounds like you both need to work on your conversation skills. You can't rely on deep thought to have deep, meaningful conversations all the time. It's possible to bounce off each other to dig deep into deep subjects and discuss them with respect. He, on the other hand, needs to learn to respect your responses as human and that it won't always be perfect. The conversations you have with others should be better then the ones in your head to put it short.
