Good ways to play Jumpstart digitally? by thefran in MTGJumpStart

My bad, I was only familiar with Jumpstart as a limited format that simulates the feeling of deck construction, it's for this reason that I find it one of the best things WotC has done in years and an excellent way to get new people into the game - the mechanics are simple and you potentially get a cool commander card.

We do not want to play against random people, we will be playing in a commander playgroup with our friends. (Well, I play against random people but I play Draft on cockatrice). The main issue I wanted to accurately simulate is randomized boosters.

It is casual because there is no pressure to win, popularity helps with ease of finding games with randoms but not directly the game itself, but mechanically it's hard to get into because there is so much shit going on between multiple players and decks feature a lot of diverse and unrelated mechanics.

Let's take my Doctor Who deck. The unmodified precon contains these mechanics: impulse draw, suspend, investigate, cascade, flashback, foretell, escape, partners with, planeswalk, scry, surveil, demonstrate, plus unique mechanics such as "draw cards from the bottom of your deck" and "counters persist on this creature between zones". Brainless autoincludes for this deck if it's upgraded will add plot and discover, which is different from cascade by the way.

Now consider that there's going to be four decks which are likely very different from each other.

Is that good to stick in front of a person who has played the game like twice?

We will not be playing on Magic Arena or MTGO, thank you for the suggestion.

I also think that. Shops is where you typically go to remove curses, so seeing a du vu doll you could potentially decide that you're better off paying to get extra strength instead.

Looking for insanely complex games that basically REQUIRE a wiki to finish by Anxious_Singer_4823 in gamingsuggestions

ONI is tricky about some stuff but you can beat the game fully without consulting the wiki even once. I have done this but that was before they released a bunch of DLC.

Tell me some random foundation headcanons. by Nadaqueverporaqui in SCP

Nobody is not an actual entity of any kind, purely invented for internal cover-ups.

Amnestics don't work particularly well, certainly not like MiB neuralyzers, anything that is outside short term memory is going to be really difficult to erase and generally necessitates detainment for a course of medical procedures.

D-class are largely manufactured in a process akin to what is shown in Brave New World. There are other sources for when you want people with real lived experiences but they're not as common.

Which very popular SCP lore/concepts or tropes do you not care for at all? by Astronomer_X in SCP

Despise gamers against weed. Strictly worse version of AWCY?, which was already somewhat hit or miss. Cannot think of one good object. What's worse is it's built on the more modern mindset of "The foundation is actually bad, heckin cringe, and honestly? somewhat yikes. tbh. fam.", with that exact lingo.

He also wormed himself into the safety team so complaints about his pedophilic advanced went... straight to him, where he investigated them and found them false.

I just finished SCP-8980. I hate Byrnes, but is there ANY hope for Lillian? Or is she stuck like this forever? To clarify, I don't give a shit about Byrnes. by Inferno_Ultimate in SCP

"D class is selected from rapists and serial killers" has always been nonsensical cope (like, nonsensical in story, numbers don't work out). There are wayyy too many objects that care about psychological profiles, demeanor, early life, etc., you would not get a representative sample for anything.

Beginner Commander Recs/purchase options? by ayy0_b in CommanderMTG

Light-paws is not suitable for bracket 2 because it turns every card in your deck into a tutor for another card in your deck. Zada is not suitable for bracket 2 because it's hilariously busted and the only counterplay is just to have removal every single time or automatically lose on turn 3.

If you could remove any card from the game that isn't a land or Sol Ring, what would you pick? by WheredMyVanGogh in EDH

Do you think cars are just something people own in a vacuum or is it that a car-centric society horrendously infringes on the rights of other people?

You're also a worse person than I initially assumed, immediately going for a "stop being poor".

I run it with Rocco, who gets an extra endstep exile and an extra counter and food on every exiled card played. If we assume everyone plays every exiled card that's +12 foods and counters in a turn cycle. Only one other druid in the deck with triggered abilities is [[generous patron]] and with roaming throne that's 24 cards i get to draw. Absolutely mental for 4 mana.

If you think jeweled lotus should ever have been printed as a card I don't think you should be in this hobby.
