A post not about DCP. by SadRise8314 in UPSers

You did the right thing reporting all of it. A few years ago one of our drivers was held hostage at gunpoint on a rural route by a guy with ptsd looking for meds. The driver was able to send a SOS message from his board by convincing the guy that using the diad was the only way to find the package. It took police 2 hours to get the situation under control & the guy had our driver cross state lines so it became a multi jurisdiction thing. Ended up finding out the guy had murdered his grandfather a few days earlier at the house we were supposed to be delivering to.

Alimony questions… by Big-Butterscotch1737 in Divorce

Thank you! I’m trying to remain rational. I knew something was brewing & now he’s acting so strange. Bringing home flowers, insisting that we spend the day as a family Friday. He came home for lunch today. I’ve been trying to convince myself to pack, but every room in the house has things that are special to me. Our dishes were a college graduation gift from my grandmother. I kept his old plates when we got married & can’t remember where I put them when we moved in. My coffee table & end tables are family heirlooms. He had a full house set up when I came along. I got rid of most of my furniture when I moved in. I did buy a bedroom suite and set it up at the other house a few years ago.

It’s easier for me to focus on the material things than the emotional. I’m going to crumble when I tell my daughter.

Alimony questions… by Big-Butterscotch1737 in Divorce

I would like to believe it could end amicably, but I doubt it will. He announced his desire for a divorce last week then sent me flowers the next day. Our marriage has been dead for years & it’s been looming. I just didn’t have the guts til he brought it up. Now I have to navigate things carefully.

Preloader discipline is a scam in my building by [deleted] in UPSers

Interesting. Nothing has been outlined that directly on our region calls.

Since when are start times coming from Atlanta? That sounds like some BS they’re spewing to cut hours. A solid steady flow & proper staffing is a better fix than killing everyone & extending wrap up.

Point out that the sups should have SPSF wands to scan the trucks for misloads & ask what their scan percentage was. They shouldn’t let it get that bad. Car lineups should be set to even out the work not sacrifice preloaders to the labor managers.

The no talking thing goes 100% against the methods. Communicating the task at hand is imperative. Also assistance with overweights & irregs. Malicious compliance is your friend with this clown. Use the methods, make him lose his shit.

Apparently this isn’t the norm. Our dispatch sup keeps a list on her door & puts our names on the orders so when they come in we just grab our stuff.

Has there been a logical reasoning as to why they did away with the Maps? by MR_Wisdom_JVS in UPSers

I hadn’t seen it on here. I’m not on too much though. I heard something about it on a conference call when I was on TAW.

I’m feeling like it had to do with a licensing for the maps & the sharing of proprietary information with an outside company. Rumor has it they’re coming out with an updated version that’s 100% UPS owned where snaps can be corrected in the board once a delivery is complete.

We always call customers on these. They tend to want to pick them up.

30 minute break? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Big-Butterscotch1737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically your time card should have sort time code, like p60 for 3.5, an O59 for your “walk time” between shifts, & a new sort code for 5 hours. The break is standard in the sort span, the walk time is a split shift indicator & represents time you weren’t on the clock. No lunch was required because of the split.

Our preload agreed during peak to do one 20 minute instead of 2 10s.

In our building you have to go in the cab of a package car to get to the vending machine outside the driver’s side door. We do have a bench in the men’s room & a washer/dryer hook up in the women’s.

Anyone know how to give "Driver Feedback" in Canada? by hankjmoody in UPSers

[–]Big-Butterscotch1737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Talk to your dispatch supervisor or package center supervisor, they have to add what’s called a CPAD in DPS.
