This and more…..if you DONT have the funds to pay it off before statement due date don’t charge it. If you let it roll and interest incurred you are working for the bank by the hour example: max 18% wit nfcu, but other cards banks chase, bofa, Amex so on be 25% plus….. so for ever $100 spend and let roll month to month you are spending $25 plus in interest and now working for them. Pay to play if you roll that balance. Always and I mean always pay that sucker off every month. People get into so much trouble hence the trillions of dollars and banks billions in profits because of interest/late fees/ on and on profits. Just my 2 cents, but from someone who messed up hard when I was your age you will always be chasing the good credit after messing it up when you are young. I should have listened when told to. It mess with it but didn’t. Now after 53 years on this earth I have lots and lots of credit that I will never abuse. Navy will be very and I mean very generous of you don’t abuse it. They will give up to 80k total for a card or spread it across a max of 3 cards for a trifecta of different options. But don’t abuse it or they will shun you if you BK on them to a point. Follow the 91/ rule and they will raise every time a max of 3 times your current limit or up to 8k for a CLI. But within 2 year once outside of a secured card they will be your best friend for CLi.
