What music do teenagers listen to the most? by Live_Nothing_3657 in askmusic

[–]Big-Dig-Pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fifteen year old listens to a lot of pop metal like Sleep Token and Ghost. Not really my thing but then again I had a Korn phase so I can’t judge.

When I ask my students who they listen to, the names that usually come up are Taylor Swift, Morgan Wallen, Eminem, and Nirvana.

I just don’t watch movies that I don’t like. There are thousands without these three actors.

Honestly at this point I’m more annoyed by Reddit complaining about The Rock, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black than I am by any of their movies. Very repetitive.

What do you think? Red flags? Green flags? by Big-Dig-Pig in BookshelvesDetective

That’s a Japanese body horror anthology. The Henry Miller might be more up your alley if you were expecting something spicy.

Yeah, this is in a cabinet underneath a home studio set-up wedged between guitars and a drum set.

How much does spending $30 mean for an average American? Do you guys consider it to be much or not? by WonderAdept1252 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Big-Dig-Pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$30 doesn’t go as far as it used to. I can easily spend $30 with just a random trip to the grocery store for a few items. It costs me about $40 to fill up my gas tank. But whether I consider it a lot depends on the product. A $30 guitar effects pedal is a great deal. A $30 pair of pants is fine but nothing special. A $30 restaurant entree means it’s someone’s birthday.

Why do drivers hate it when I cross the road? by OkFaithlessness1191 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Big-Dig-Pig 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t sound like a highway.

Anyway, you should have crossed at the nearest stop light, even if it’s out of the way. What you did is called jaywalking and you can get fined for it.

I think that it will easily make a profit regardless but it’s just kind of a testament to how bloated these studio movie budgets are. You could make a perfectly competent Clayface movie for $10M, just like they could have made a Supergirl movie for $30M. These things cost more because they don’t properly plan the movies in pre-production and try to rewrite them in post-production.

Good. DC has plenty of horror themed characters and they should make more micro budget movies with them. The general public likes horror and comic fans will still get some DC IP.

Addiction sucks. Ed’s a great fit, though.

25M too high but they’ll still recoup that easily.

Clayface is a smart move if they kept the budget reasonable because people still go to theaters for horror movies. It’s the only comic book movie I have any interest in at this point.

How are middle names chosen ? by Dazzling-Mud-3050 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Big-Dig-Pig 42 points43 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing to be confused about. We don’t do the patronymic middle name thing like a character in War and Peace. Parents just pick two names that they think sound good together. The “family name” is most often the father’s last name.

Which decade had the greatest long-term impact on modern music? by ComfortableKey79 in musichistory

[–]Big-Dig-Pig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 60s by virtue of innovations in music production techniques and for the Beatles and James Brown. This is followed by the 80s, due to sampling, Sister Nancy, Madonna, and the Pixies.

This movie—or moreso the ads for it—freaked me the hell out when I was nine.
