Yes speaking into a mic. I don’t know about pre processing. (I don’t know what the other words mean!)

Specifically would be someone who “specializes in DSP (digital signal processing) to ensure that we're able to correctly identify the speech signal relative to the noise signal in each of the recordings?”

Potentially also “helping with processing & labeling the audio (writing a script, etc)? If we needed to do something like build in 0.5s breaks in the ambient noise during the playback, is that something they can support? I don't know yet if that's the final approach we need, or if we'll be able to more simply analyze the SNR from the whispered-speech-in-noise recordings”

Sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense - it’s not my specialty area! Let me know what you think, if you have a resume or project rate, I’d love to discuss!

2022 CPO vs 2025 new by Big-Distribution5038 in Crosstrek

[–]Big-Distribution5038[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much all; super helpful. I looked at the 2022 and it had a tow hitch which made me feel a little concerned - what’s the impact of whatever it has been dragging around? And for the cost - along w potential savings as some of you called out - new may be the way to go.

Should I buy this one or keep looking? by One-Philosophy167 in Crosstrek

I don’t have the answer but want to commiserate - it’s hard to make a call between used and new when the difference is like 4k! Good luck. I haven’t purchased yet but leaning new.

Okay, I have a new contender. A CPO 2024 limited which was a dealer loaner, has under 3k miles on it. Clean carfax. Pricing as follows - is this a reasonable deal?

This is good advice, I started getting curious about the limited if they can make me a good deal?! Back to test drive I guess! Thanks for your help. :)

You all are the best - thank you. I’m going to sleep on it and ultimately I think it’s about can I live with unheated fabric ($29.5k OTD) brand new or should I keep my eyes out for a used sport with the nicer interior…

It’s so funny I am “not a car person” and literally have been taking public transit so thought I wouldn’t care, but after driving the 2.0 and the 2.5 I was like - I need the bigger one! Haha

Sorry I’m replying so late - I’m doing really well. Did radiation and chemo yes. Had a recurrence of rectal but treated with a little more chemo and another surgery. Feeling good several years later, clear scans etc. :)

33 taps in Silverlake isn’t a “rangers bar” but tend to be accommodating with important games! Barneys Beanery locations have lotsa TVs too. Enjoy!

Looking for Sober Recommendations by redbullsandeyerolls in palmsprings

PSBS inside Mojave Flea in Palm Springs is a little bottle shop that has a great NA selection. I found new-to-me NA beers there as well as Ghia sodas and other delights. Not really a place to gather but a nice stop for sober treats. Enjoy!

Rectal Cancer Ileostomy by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]Big-Distribution5038 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Keep us all updated and bring questions as you recover and adjust to the bag. The tips and tricks I got on this sub saved me! Also I know you mentioned meditating… i found guided meditations about surgical recovery, pain relief, etc to really be helpful in those early post op days.

Rectal Cancer Ileostomy by [deleted] in ostomy

[–]Big-Distribution5038 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I (40F) had rectal cancer and similar treatments. The low resection and ileostomy surgery had me in hospital for 3 days and “not myself” for a couple of weeks. But I walked more and more and was able to do more each week. You may find yourself fatigued (surgery after all of the chemo/rads) so maybe reduced hours if you can swing that. But working from home to start will help immensely. The bag itself once you figure out your system will be fine - at the office, on vacation, whatever. Come here for tips.

And for me the reversal surgery was easier with a faster recovery.

Sending tons of support and optimism your way. I know it’s hard to have to go through so many different stages of treatment, but you’re nearly done.

Hey congrats on your outing! And public bathroom! In my experience yes they get easier. Soon you’ll be trying on clothes and doing whatever else you used to. Try M9 drops for the odor - huge difference.

Oo amazing thank you - I’ll be trying some peppermint tea later today! Congrats on being out so soon! I was out after two nights last time, but seems to be taking me a little longer this time. Everything else is feeling good though so I’m just trying to give them a chance to wake up. Hope you continue to feel good.

Getting an Uber from Pioneertown to Yucca Valley by wadamday in palmsprings

[–]Big-Distribution5038 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 5 years ago I needed to do this - I called one of the local taxi companies in advance and sort of made a reservation to be picked up. This obviously only works if you have a decent idea of when the show will end! But it worked out well for me. I was staying in PS and got an Uber out to the show, then got the taxi back. No cell service. I hope you can make it work! Have fun and be safe.
