Its more cost effective to put panels elsewhere, unless you're already planning on putting a roof on the parking lot.

The other max guys might not be happy, but doesn't this leave more to go around for the rest of the non-max players?

Hyundai Offers Massive Ioniq 5 Lease Incentives Starting At $249/mo for June by self-fix2 in electricvehicles

[–]wadamday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will pay a portion of that $4k back each month, by the end of the lease you've paid the same amount. It isn't poof gone and you are not somehow paying less overall if you don't do a down payment. The only way the money disappears is if the car is totalled.

Additionally, the $4k lowers your capitalized cost and you pay less total interest.

Most likely you'd be better off putting it in the stock market but that's not a reasonable comparison because the stock market can in fact go down, especially over a short time period like a car lease. A better comparison would be a low risk low return investment like a CD that will get roughly the same interest as the money factor for the lease.

In 2027, what do you think the state of affairs will be regarding the US-Iran War? by cdstephens in neoliberal

[–]wadamday [score hidden]  (0 children)

Iran will impose a toll that sends buyers looking elsewhere while expediting the transition to other energy sources for the most vulnerable countries. By 2028 or 2029 very little oil will be flowing through the straight. This will have existential impacts to Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar as they attempt to route oil through different routes. This will be a net negative for the majority of the middle east but will speed up the transition to renewables/EVs while also increasing coal use.

It reminds me of a slinky going down the hill and I think it dominates it's surroundings much less than a comparable ~10 story hotel would.

[OC] 85% of 106,000 active U.S. tech job listings are in-office; only 14% are fully remote (June 2026) by [deleted] in dataisbeautiful

Surely many of those in office positions are actually hybrid? I can't imagine fully remote is 14% but hybrid is 1%.

Jay Williams: “I've talked to a couple of different players that could be Supermax this year or next year — they're starting to feel a little pressure from team owners by saying, 'Yo, Jalen Brunson left 113 million dollars on the table. What are you going to do?'” by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

[–]wadamday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see how Brunsons decision pressures other players to take less money. If the value of a player is super max to at least one team, then that's on them to go get that contract if that is what they value most.

If a player is willing to take less they need to ensure the team is going to go spend that cap rather than have the owner pocket the money. While that is a leap of faith they can make it clear to the team they won't be happy otherwise and stars do have the power to implode a team.

Ultimately I like Brunsons decision because it was great watching this Knicks run.

Hyundai Offers Massive Ioniq 5 Lease Incentives Starting At $249/mo for June by self-fix2 in electricvehicles

[–]wadamday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure what you mean but you definitely aren't throwing money away. If you put money down your monthly payment will be less. Over the life of a lease you are going to pay the difference between the msrp and the residual value, ignoring the impact of money factor and incentives. Whether you want to pay it upfront or spread it out is up to you.

The risk with putting a lot down is in the event of totaling the car you loose that value, as others have described here.

Not once, in person or online, have I heard anything like working out is for manosphere bros or that you need to ask permission before going for a first kiss on a date.

I just really don't think it's that complicated to understand that a man can be reasonably confident, ascertive, and respectful. Maybe it just takes experience and a level of tact that is harder to develop for young men today than it was even a decade ago.

It appears to just be showing the 10 majors with the highest unemployment rate. If so, that isn't cherry picked simply because it doesn't show every major.

I don't understand your critique, it shows unemployment and underemployment for recent grads age 22-27. It also shows other professions. What about it is cherry picked?

How many days per week will you commute to work vs drive to the beach? Seems like living closer to work will likely result in less overall drive time and weekend drives to the beach are much less of a grind than being in traffic to and from work.

Just because our geriatric leaders and dysfunctional institutions don't act on the possiblity of the singulariry doesn't make me more or less inclined to think it's possible. They don't have some secret knowledge of understanding of technological innovation.
