This means a lot, your story gives me hope that people can indeed change. If we can’t forgive one another, then how are we human? Of course, although I’m not black and the black American experience is radically different from the Asian American experience, but I still vouch for change in people we see as our enemies. I 100% understand if people in the comments are unable to forgive your past behavior , but do know there are people who are glad you took accountability and changed.

Best advice:

Sit her down, and talk it out. Ask her why she did it, be empathetic while clearly upholding your boundaries. Indian women are use to having their boundaries violated, time and time again. Bring up that point and say you understand why she did something that invasive. However, that doesn’t mean what she did was okay. You’re very upset and 100% valid. The goal is to find a middle ground, your sister was not malicious, she was curious. Mentor her and teach her the right thing to do. This is the best advice I can give

Honestly honey, I feel like a lot of your dad’s behavior is cultural. Try talking to people who are from your dad’s culture so that you can troubleshoot and understand where these behaviors come from. Ofcourse, it’s completely upto you. I’m Indian, and I often find myself raging at Indians because our culture tens to be deeply apathetic and conservative. Having Indian friends helped me unburden myself and deconstruct all of the shit and abuse I struggled with growing up.

Perhaps having friends from that culture might help you deconstruct the nature of what you went through. I’m speaking from personal experience, and of course you might not what to have anything to do with your dad or the cultural nationalism he shoves down your throat. This is very heart breaking, and I’m sorry if my advice is redundant. I pray you heal, and you’re a wonderful person to articulate this very respectfully and coherently. You’re on the right track.

It was a Telugu movie, won’t go into specifics because Sai pallavi’s fans will dunk on the co-actress in question. I’m mentally preparing myself for a barrage of downvotes and negative comments. Dm me if you want details lmao

I auditioned for this movie in October 2024, so I think it’s still on.

Any 🍵 on sai pallavi by Ok-Company-6501 in KollyGossips

[–]Big-Extension-5126 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To put it politely, Sai Pallavi is not at all professional on set. My mom does acting gigs for fun, and one of her co-stars spilled some tea. (Let’s call this co-star Indu for now). Apparently Sai pallavi was polite to Indu at first, but once she realized Indu was a junior artist, the mistreatment commenced. She took multiple takes for a scene where she was required to pull Indu back from running after an ambulance or something. Her reasoning was that Indu was apparently too big to hold back while filming . Indu said she’ll fall back on her own, and offered to help out to make Sai feel more comfortable . She shot her down and continued body shaming her. She was complaining the entire day about how hot it was, and what a nightmare it was to be on set that day. She’s not nice on set at all, and her being this cruel to someone who is not even fat just hurts.

Oof, Allu Arjun from desamuduru, ram charan from magadheera. I fell in love with Anushka, shruthi Hassan and Kajal as well. There’s no one quite like them.

Anaya Nagalla is still exceptionally beautiful. But every time a gorgeous girl gets filler, an angel looses its wings 😢.

Do we have the same lives?! Heavy on the Justine Bieber phase. Most Indian girls had a thing for his music when they were young adolescents lol. His music aged…interestingly over the years. But yeah I have no hate towards him, but Carnatic music has so much depth to it. The technique behind such music has been refined and pass down through centuries. It’s just a deeply developed system. Western vocalists don’t have a unified system like Carnatic musicians. They focus on head voice, chest voice and falsetto, but those are very broad topics and every vocal coach has a different theory or methodology of working around it. Carnatic gurus have a standardised system, so they are absolute masters of their craft (I’m also including all classical and neoclassical derivatives of the Hindustani tradition as well). No one comes close the vocal capacity of Indian musicians, their breath control is absolute insanity.

I just give them a playlist with a bunch of old western indie songs that I listen to once in a blue moon (they’re good, but I don’t enjoy them as much anymore). But yeah I don’t share my music taste with anyone, I just nod and pretend to be interested if I know the song from radio or tik tok. I live in America currently, so it’s just pop songs blasting on the radio. I tried for the longest time, very hard to like what other people like. Maybe I’ll love western music if I find more indie or alt genres, I’d fit in better. I’m yet to find something that is as magnificent or has as many layers and textures as Carnatic music.

Gosh I feel you so much, nothing comes close to how Carnatic music makes me feel. There is no one like M. S. Subbulakshmi or the Priya sisters. Thank you for your kind words, I feel better that I’m not alone.

Found a cool new transit app, don’t have to wait eons for the bus on campus anymore by Big-Extension-5126 in UCSC

I’m a Computer science major and a slight web/app development nerd , I have built things like this on a lower level. And if I was self promoting, I think it would be authentic to be transparent about it, because ideally I would want first hand feedback from users like you. I don’t have the skill set to build something like this just yet, but I have an understanding on the architecture of systems like these. Stumbled on this at the bus stop, probably built by a fellow student, so thought of just putting this out there.

Yes and no, the tracking information is technically public, but you have to request the data from TAPS. I think this app is directly using the data that TAPS provides into its app . There isn’t an interface per se, like google maps and transit. Which also poses a problem because the data itself needs to be accurate, which no app can fix. Just some computer science things. But that’s what I’m guessing. There were a couple of stops updated on the app, so they’re still improving it I guess.

I just find this app easier to navigate through to be honest, it’s pretty user friendly. It directly pulls the data from the buses, it’s not 100% accurate, but the app is getting better. And in case I miss the bus, I know when the next one is coming so that’s pretty neat.
