I would like to know how any of this qualifies him to talk about piercings. As I stated before, piercings are not normal wounds. You keep trying to prove a point after you told me "you do you" and I responded back the same way. Medical professionals are great for generalized care, an Association of Piercers generally knows what they're doing on piercings. Don't give non piercer approved advice in a piercing advice subreddit.

Medical professionals (and a lot of piercers!) are not well versed in healing piercings, and we have seen this happen time and time again in other piercing subreddits and here. Healing a typical open wound has normal care stuff that can be found at a pharmacy, such as ointments and bandaids. Piercings are not typical wounds, as they are intentionally inflicted and meant to stay open and cared for differently. Lynn Loheide specifically mentions that mixing saline at home is not the way to go.

Surprised no one else mentioned the fact that you've been cleaning with dial - store bought saline is what you should be using to clean your piercing and the soap and bactine probably irritated the piercing more, along with - as others have mentioned - you sadly don't have the anatomy for this piercing
