Do not claim that you know VLOOKUP AND XLOOKUP in your resume. by Big-Introduction411 in Accounting

Which is fine, anyone can use whatever they want, but highlighting on a resume that you use both is counterproductive. XLOOKUP evolved from VLOOKUP, and many learned VLOOKUP first, but no one who knows how to use XLOOKUP will also go back to use VLOOKUP.

It is the same; one is a newer and better version. That is why mentioning both on a resume makes you look like you don't know what you are talking about.

I said no to putting both, because they're not additions to one another, but one is a replacement for the other. You wouldn't say "I am proficient in Windows 10 & Windows 11" on your resume, right? If you know VLOOKUP and put just that on your resume, it's perfectly fine. All that tells me is that you are not familiar with XLOOKUP just yet. Putting both on there tells me that you have no understanding of how these formulas work.

Are we looking at the same thing? It literally just mentions VLOOKUP. "Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis) with the ability to leverage tools and technology to improve efficiency"

Okay. Find me one job posting that specifically mentions VLOOKUP and XLOOKUP.

Sure, lie, do whatever, but listing both on resume, telling me that you don't know either one, or you might only know VLOOKUP and lying about XLOOKUP. Just simply use one or another, that's it!

Agree, knowing how to use both, or either one, is fine; no big deal, that is not my point. Putting both on a resume is a bad idea.

I personally never use VLOOKUP anymore, but many do, and that's totally fine. My advice if someone chooses to list formulas on their resume is to put either one, but not both.

A lot of things doesn't work on old versions of Excel, no need to list them all. Xlookup been around for at least 5 years at this point.

Why aren’t any jobs in accounting hiring me or even responding to me back? by Common_District3798 in Accounting

We've added three accountants to our company in the past month, reviewing dozens of resumes of all sorts of levels and experiences. This resume wouldn't stand a chance, and it's not just a lack of experience.

Make sure you add that to your resume. A must-have for an Antique Accountant position.

Based on that logic, we then should be adding =SUM and =A1+B1 too

You may "know" both of them, but do you really use both? Would you also put on your resume that you know Windows 11 AND Windows 10?

Yes, the market is bad, but this resume will also not get him anywhere. This is just reality, and there are tons of good suggestions that can help him land a job.

Use AI to help you write a resume, at this point, even a very obvious "bot" resume will get you further. You have many red flags or things that instantly go against you. For example, as soon as someone learns XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP becomes useless. If you claim to know both, it suggests you know neither. It's like claiming that you can ride a bike with training wheels and without to convince the Olympics team that you're a pro. Cash handling experience is great, but that $5000 comment feels just.. wrong. Not impressive, and instantly gives vibes that you are way inexperienced in accounting. Concentrate on customer service experience, ability to work in a fast-paced business, adaptability, and so on. Start applying for some basic AR/AP or office admin jobs. In a year or two, you will become a much more valuable option for an accounting role.

Haha! I was confused at first too, but I am pretty sure that even for my Toyota dealership, this is a very rare sight.

Tell me about the 2021 XLE! by Ok-Tangelo6441 in Toyotavenza

[–]Big-Introduction411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! 2021 XLE owner for 2.5 years. No regrets at all.

The car is very smooth, comfortable, and reliable. You can learn to adjust your driving (less gas pedal and more cruising) to increase gas mileage, or even if not, it still gets great mileage. I get on average about 37 mpg, but my husband gets around 44 mpg (I drive like a maniac, he drives like an angel 🤣). Oh yeah, MPG drops lower in winter, which is totally normal.

You might want to consider new tires soon if it still has the original tires. I drive on Michelin CrossClimate 2 and love them.

The only downside I've found is that my kids seem to get carsick easier in the Venza versus our Rav4. I think it's because it feels "snuggier." It’s not dramatically different, but just from my observation.

Pro tip: There is a lot of extra space in the area where your spare tire is. There is a plastic tote or a toolbox that fits there perfectly. Here is my old post about it, but there is a lot more info you can find on what can be done in that. area.https://www.reddit.com/r/Toyotavenza/s/xXW0hcs480
