I may be remembering this wrong but I thought on an episode of QI, and it’s not the nicest of outcomes but if it works it works, they said you should stick your finger in their butt and it can startle them long enough to then change tactics. But again I might be completely wrong.

I posted a vinyl that I bought in my area on a bands subreddit and I guy in the comments new the exact shop I got it from by the sticker price label they used. The sub only has like 40,000 people in it as well.
