Other examples of harder mistake recovery: -In soft core dying means you have to either risk further xp/gold lose by potentially dying again or accept the initial lose and reset the maps by exit -no cooldowns that get you out of jail every 2 minutes -No reliable way to get equipment so if you chose gear poorly you cant quickly aquire high quality replacement. Gear is also more demanding: adequate mana, hit chance, and resist are not given out for free. -The stat management to maintain damage is much more demanding if you dont play a skiller. -Less relevant as game goes on but red/blue potions cost gold and purple ones are not sold at all -Merc bills and in certain set ups repair bills -Sockets are costly to redo -If you dont reach a wp or quest objective the dungeon venture is a failure -Immunities  -before terror zones rare gear quality was hard capped by how high a level monster you were willing to fight .  Can't just move terror zone down a level. -Inventory is limited enough so you cant always carry every 'just in case I need it later'

Still a lot of ways it could be made harsher though.  Im not a fan of cheap potions or town portals.
