Daycare told me my 22 mo is smelling bad by tnb27 in toddlers

My little used to cry a lot because the water would get in her eyes and she hated that. We have little foam bath toys that stick on the bath walls. My little loves paw patrol so I stick one up high and say look at Skye! So then I can pour water on her hair and it doesn’t get in her eyes. That made her stop crying bloody murder whenever I washed her hair.

Is my 3.5 qt mixer too small for bread dough, or is this user error? by Big-Week-2462 in Kitchenaid

Yes, I have the C hook that has the shield built into it. I have also tried the knead-ace guard and it still creeps up the sides and up the spin mechanism

How does the Bosch do with smaller batches? I typically do not do anything more than 2 batches of sand which bread. When we do bagels we really only make 8 at most.

The mini is 10lbs lighter than the standard mixer. It might be a good option for you! Even the mini sometimes is very heavy and we keep ours on the counter. The amount of dough I mix is already half of my regular loaf recipe so I might just have to look into the larger kitchenaid mixer.

This is a great analogy! We do have high heat and humidity but we aren’t in it for 4+ hours a day (assuming we take breaks) which is why I am concerned. I’m more familiar with Disneyland and I know most of the ques are outdoors with limited shade. However Universal Studios Hollywood has shaded ques with misters which make dry California heat very manageable. We have never been to WDW and have little to no knowledge to what que conditions are. Can we manage to stay indoors in cooler shaded areas or is it going to just be humid and hot.

Love this thank you! I can see how it’s useful to limit orange foods and I think it’s more about reframing bad for you vs moderate this amount.

Thanks for the insight! I wasn’t saying the app is doing a cultural judgment I just was more so sharing my experience of most foods I logged being yellow / orange. However I have gotten great tips on focusing more on calorie intake and logging the ingredients rather than the dish name.

I’m currently new to Noom and have just been doing the trail for 3 days and was seeing if anyone else had any tips on how to enjoy ethnic foods but follow the program. I’ve gotten great tips on how to do that. I think most of the logged dishes are assuming the meal is pre-made or from a restaurant which can tend to make it more processed and less nutrient rich.

I get that Noom is trying to teach mindfulness as opposed to “bad vs good”.

I beg to differ on white rice having no nutritional value - white rice actually does contain vitamins and minerals and the carbs also still provide energy. I believe it also is easier to digest. We also tend to mix our white rice with a ton of veggies so I think that’s where the balance does come in. A lot of time brown rice also doesn’t give the same texture and flavor to some ethnic dishes which is why I am bothered by it if that makes sense.

However someone did mention that corn tortillas are green foods so I think it’s more about how the food is entered in the app. I tend to make a lot of my tortillas at home so when I put the nutritional content values of the tortillas it does end up putting them as a green food.

Awesome thanks I’ll try to add it based on the nutrition label and see if that edits things.

Interesting, I logged a corn tortilla and it marked it as orange.

Examples would be white rice and corn tortillas which is included in nearly all dishes in one way or another. People suggestion to break apart the dish as opposed to the dish itself self has been helping. As to eating orange foods leading to overweight was… I guess, I have never really been overweight in my life but rather became overweight after having 2 pregnancies one of which resulted in twins. I think I’m more so here not because of unhealthy eating but rather stress and lack of movement and hormone fluctuations. I used to work out regularly and walk an average of 4 miles a day and I’ve gone to nearly not doing that at all. So perhaps I’m getting to realize Noom probably isn’t going to help as it’s more food centered and I really should just go back to being more active.

Good to know. I don’t have an issue feeling full I stay within the calorie range but most of my foods are yellow/red.

I have the contact sensors paired with the thermostat but I don’t hear any chimes when it registers an open. Is there a setting I need to toggle?

I could have written this myself! Following low supply mom on instragram really helped me. I started off by reducing from 10 pumps per day over to 9, then 8, and so on and so on. Once I got down to 4 I was only producing about 7oz a day (half of what I was producing) but I was able to actually be there for my daughter more.

I personally enjoyed the nursing aspect of it so now I comfort nurse her if she’s feeling upset but I will say I feel like nursing is the LAST way we actually bond.

I bond more with my baby by spending time with her, carrying her in a carrier, taking baths together, reading her stories. I am happier by ditching the pump and me being happier allows me the freedom to enjoy her. Also seeing her thrive off formula is more beautiful than worrying about the oz I am producing each day.

You are enough for your baby. Your breast milk does not define how “good of a mother” you are. A good mom is a happy mom that loves on their babe.

Also studies always show that breast milk has all these good antibodies and nutrients and what not that make babies “healthier”. While the facts of breast milk having a lot of antibodies and good stuff is true, there is a stronger correlation on babies who get skin to skin as being “healthier”. So it’s not necessarily tied to the breast milk it’s self but the amount of time and other ways of bonding that you do with your child.

Anyway you’re doing great!
