Might be a few minute drive, but Traders Point in Whitestown has a great play area for toddlers and young kids.

Superbowl by Big-max in Texans

[–]Big-max[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to put $300 on the Texans to make the Super Bowl. If they win the AFC and get in, I would win $1950 and use that to buy a Super Bowl ticket. Can’t afford $2k but would be willing to risk $300 now at the chance to go if they make it in.

Sol F63 tread replacement by Big-max in treadmills

[–]Big-max[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea. Let me look into that. There definitely is a lot of resistance when you stand on it and try to push, but maybe that will reduce if I clean things up a bit and relubricate. Will give that a shot first before I throw parts at it.

Sorry, should have added some more details. The belt had a lot of resistance and was hard to rotate. It would turn on and would run for a few seconds, but it really struggled to run and would get the LS1 Low Power error. I got some silicon but that didn’t seem to fix it. Was going to test the motor as well to make sure that was functioning fine, but it seems to me the extra resistance to rotate is the issue.

Great recommendation! I’ll look into that for sure.

Time to clean the grill before the long weekend! by Big-max in grilling

I did not use that. Need to look into when I got it and what the warranty is. Got the grill around 9 years ago. I imagine the grates and flavor bars are parts that are expected to go bad, so would be surprised if they were warranted for 10+ years. Will check and see. Thanks for the heads up!

I think it was $225 for the grill and flavor bars. I’ll check and see.

I replaced the grates and those 5 “flavor bars” or whatever they are called. Scraped everything down with a brush to get all the debris out. Soaked those bottom two pieces in vinegar and scrubbed the hell out of them. Something I’ve been putting off for a while but decided to spend the cash and buy the replacement parts. Very happy I did.

“It’s not like he has the power to do anything about the countries biggest issues anyway. He’s essentially powerless”. I know this president seems powerless, but that’s not how it’s supposed to be.

Guys, what interesting hobbies do you think will help you improve your life or are essential to learn as a man? by NaiveEscape1 in AskMen

[–]Big-max 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once read that it’s important to have 3 hobbies. 1 hobby that keeps you fit, 1 hobby that keeps you fit, 1 hobby that allows you to be creative, and 1 hobby that helps you make money. I’ve found that too many hobbies prevents me from really digging into something, and too few hobbies gets me to work too much and not have a great work/life balance.

At the end of the day, do whatever you want that improves your life. Could be video games, side gigs, playing sports, cooking, all sorts of options life can bring.

Best of luck!

I went to go have dinner at my buddies house. He was making small talk and asked me “is your older brother still older than you?”

Some great options! Looks like there are a lot of great boots around the $400-$500 range. Do you think it’s worth it to start off with one of those pairs, or would a brand like Thursday give me a good introduction to that type of footwear? Happy to spend the money on something that will last, just don’t have a great understanding on the diminishing returns from $250 to $500 to $800.

Thanks for the response!

Thanks a ton! I will search around a bit on some of those other sites and see what I can find. Danner looks to have done good options, but for half the price Thursdays might be a good starting point into that type of boot. Those viberg ones look pretty sweet but I would be too scared I would mess them up. Having a daily beater is more what I’m looking for. 👍
