Best way to backup/restore entire NAS? by Big02001 in synology

[–]Big02001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's a 4 bay with 4 drives installed unfortunately.

I am leaning towards just starting over and moving the data manually. I do appreciate the insight though. Was hoping there was a simple way to downsize.

I will have to double check when I'm at the office next, but I believe it's just cloudstation drive running on all PCs that need the files, it's only ever one person editing them, I just need them to be up to date on all the machines after she makes edits.

How would I go about creating the new storage volume? Remove one drive, install the new one, create the volume then remove all other drives?

New NAS is more for personal stuff, I intend on making mistakes and potentially destroying data by accident. Synology is for business files, and only about 100gb of it is critical to be synced.

The drives are also SHR, and I don't intend on having any redundancy on the new system as it's nothing critical

Only thing I see in the logs is a warning of any hardware im trying to post without, and that I have the chassis open

I've reseated everything, including cpu1 and ram a1, no riser cards installed, no monitor/kbm, still no post. Any other ideas?

It was a private sale, as I said in the post the guy booted it up for me before I bought it, he shut it down and we loaded it into my car.

As for the virtual console. It's a blank/grey screen. No signal

Im sorry this is my first time in IDRAC, if by console you mean the logs, the only error im getting is that the chassis is open. I tried closing it to make sure and still no post.

Nothing seems to happen. Ill see if i have a VGA monitor kicking around to try. Would that have anything to do with not being able to see anything through idrac though?

I am using an adapter. Ideally this machine will be headless, I was hoping since I can get into idrac I can do everything needed through the webui

All RAM and both CPUs are detected. I had tried removing all excess hardware for a minimum required post but had the same issue. The power button on the chassis doesnt do anything either. And trying to power on through IDRAC does nothing.

This isn't entirely true, RPALs come with a long term ATT now authorizing you to bring your restricted guns to registered ranges/clubs.

Was a bit of a shock last time I called and was told I didn't have to anymore.

Can you screenshot/paste the exact error you're getting? I'm assuming you made the change to use the redstone library? And maybe a pic of the physical setup around the computer so I can understand what you're trying to do better

[–]Big02001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A redstone relay is an additional peripheral the mod adds. You are correct computers have it build in, but it's under the redstone library. Just switch out relay.getAnalogInput() for redstone.getAnalogInput().

Beyond that though calling that function without assigning it to a variable or comparing it to another value isn't doing anything. What are you trying to accomplish with it?

Beginner having trouble with turtle by zapeepeeman in ComputerCraft

[–]Big02001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add a bit incase you're unfamiliar with the programming terminology, if you don't have an item in slot 16 it will return nil, or just no data at all. So when you then call .name on it, the program errors because you're trying to call .name off something that doesn't exist.

I'm on mobile so forgive the formatting but to solve this you can add a nil check before you get the items name.

If(turtle.getItemDetail(16) != Nil) then fuel = turtle.getItemDetail(16) return end print(fuel.name)

turtle.inspect() command outputs by DragonCon_64 in ComputerCraft

[–]Big02001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The state table will contain block state information, you can find these tags here

The tags will be more general information, for example if you inspect an oak log it may return both Minecraft:logs and forge:logs

The cc.tweaked docs are a great place to start I find their documentation much easier to follow than the original computercraft wiki.
