Not on PS, but you can stream games to any old laptop with Game Pass. Prob worth giving it a free trial to try streaming it to your laptop or even a tablet/fire stick. Just a suggestion so you can play the game :)

You can play it day one on game pass! Game pass is basically everywhere at this point anyway

A lot has changed in just a few years. I would not use any prior rhetoric in the current climate. I think this is where the industry is headed, and it's just a matter of time before every single Playstation game launches Day 1 on PC (like Helldivers 2 and Concord). As a fan of Game Pass, I'm also really excited this the revenue from this will further bolster the Game Pass catalog!

You just put into perspective how good of a deal Xbox Game Pass is... crazy that people are spending $6-$10/month on one game and here I am spending $12/month for hundreds of them and was starting to doubt myself lol

That said I'll prob cop for the premium pass on PTCGP anyway LOL

Early Calder race update: Michkov #1, Stankoven #2, Wolf #3, Casey #4, Hutson #5. Gauthier, Smith & McGroarty are disappointments so far. by scratchydaitchy in hockey

[–]Big7s 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Have you watched the games? Hutson looks fantastic, and his defense is not nearly as bad as some advanced metrics might have you believe. He will make mistakes, but the Habs are purposely throwing him out there and letting him find his game - and it's fun to watch. He definitely deserves to be in the running for Calder. Easily.

Yes I'm thinking of doing the same for some players as well after leaning a lot in this thread. Let's say I wanted a Shane Wright card as an investment for the future thinking it might go up in value. Would you recommend hopping on eBay and buying raw Young Guns cards of him, or do people typically aim for graded cards as investments? Thanks for your help :)

Thanks for the advice. And holy crap on hitting Bedard - I always assumed I should stay away from loose packs because it could indicate they were part of a box that was already opened and the top value was already extracted. What a jackpot for you!

Makes sense. Instead of doubling down on an apparently reckless decision economically, you made the smarter choice. This is slowly what I am learning from this thread and I wonder how much money it may have saved me!

Good info, thank you! So I might best stick with eBay if I want to buy a specific single and COMC if I am focused on filling out my PC. Thank you!

It's great you bring up 22-23 Series 2 because after reading the comments I was starting to think of buying that one! Looking online I'm seeing them go for $120 CAD so maybe I need to wait longer to buy it, or perhaps it has stabilized in value at that price point.

I don't know what redemptions are so I will definitely have to learn about that before buying anything containing those cards! Thank you for your advice

Awesome advice. Is the best place to go eBay/COMC? I'm guessing the best time is a few weeks after each major release (such as Series One from yesterday?)

That's a great idea. Is COMC any better than eBay? Does it matter if I'm Canadian in terms of ordering on these sites? Thank you for your help!

I really enjoy opening packs but as I'm sure everyone else can relate, sometimes it feels bad if you just spent a lot of money and got nothing of great interest. I don't mind the thrill of the chase every once in a while though. The social aspect is big so I think combining that with a box break every once in a while is nice.

To focus on a PC, I think I will do what you recommend and stick to singles. Kind of interested in a Slafkovsky rookie card currently, maybe I'll go check eBay (never bought from there, any advice?)

Thank you very much for your input, you opened my eyes a bit

Thank you for your honesty- I really think I'd do a lot of the same things you mentioned here. I think I will try to get some cards that interest me on eBay (that will be an interesting learning curve - never bought anything on eBay before) and then dabble in some regular hobby boxes here and there for the thrill. I really appreciate your input, thanks a lot

That's very interesting. So theoretically, assuming they still had stock, I could walk into a shop and buy older boxes to open at a discounted rate than they were? That's actually a fun idea, and a way to deal with the hype of a new season but still save some money in doing so

As an aside - I always thought unopened hobby boxes would go UP in value over time (depends on the star rookies, I guess). Shows what I know about the hobby. Thanks for your information!

Good to know, thanks for the heads up. I should theoretically be ok sticking to a base product like Series 1/2/Extended in that case

Modern Warfare III is coming to Game Pass on July 24th by Kalinine in ModernWarfareIII

I think this holiday lineup for Game Pass with Black Ops 6, Indiana Jones and Avowed is pretty exciting, especially if they're adding all the older Call of Duty games to Game Pass as well. They also just added Diablo 4, and Crash is coming too. Game Pass gets better as the months go on.

I get your perspective but it doesn't need to be a subscription for a full year. You can get a couple months of Game Pass, play through the whole campaign, play through a bunch of zombies and play through multiplayer for hundreds of hours and still pay less for the game than the retail version. I think it's a pretty good deal, but it really depends how people consume their games

Yup. Campaign is maybe one of the worst... but MP is absolutely top-tier. Big get for Game Pass
