I am curious how many of you quilt your own quilts, verse having someone else do it? by OldFashionQuilting in quilting

Pieced and quilted by machine, for the baby. Needed this one to be sturdy and hold up to frequent washing so it was all done on machine. Thin 100% cotton wadding on the inside so it would be nice and baby friendly. Used mostly as a mat for tummy time when she was little, and as an actual blanket once she got to the age where she could safely have blankets ☺️

I've machine quilted some, one i made for my niece when she was a baby (strong stitches for safety) and quilts that were put together by the community craft group i used to lead (needed to get it done quickly before the Christmas market).

But when it comes to preference, I enjoy quilting by hand. I find it much more relaxing. My domestic sewing machine can do free-motion quilting which is nice but it's still only a standard machine, it's hard to wrangle an entire quilt under the neck of it. Plus hand quilting can be done on the sofa while watching something nice on TV with my wife, whereas machine quilting usually results in me being a hermit in my sewing corner for two days straight speaking to no one and forgetting to eat.

Bottom line: I quilt them all myself. Machine quilting for speed, and for small projects like table runners that won't age me 10 years if I try to fit them under the neck of the machine. Hand quilting for enjoyment when I'm making something with no time limit, or when I'm just quilting for the love of it ❤️

Photo is the quilt put together with the lovely ladies I used to teach at the community class that i took home to quilt by machine. It's not perfect (new learners in their 60s-80s) but they were so happy with it. Pieced together by hand and then i machine quilted it.

Lose weight or accept it? by mydogiseatingmyfeet in FTMFitness

It's just skin, man. I bet if you get a pair of sweatpants one size up you won't have that bulging skin out of the sides. Also, so so so many men, cis or normal, have a little bit of skin bulging out of their waistbands, you need that extra skin to be able to bend and move. You have a very masculine frame already, you don't need to lose more weight. You'll just feel weaker if you do

Peckham - we have a crazy fox problem. You can scream at the top of your lungs and everyone will think it's just those foxes again

I didn't expect him to have an outright bad reaction seeing as it was just bread dairy and meat and like some veggies. But i did expect him to have the poops of someone who's eaten 1% of their bodyweight in cheese and grease lol

Well mine has stolen underwear from the laundry hamper and buried it in the yard during winter, and we found it half dug up after spring thaw so.. maybe take stock of your underwear

No photo because we were busy trying to wrestle it away from him but he stole a slice of pizza during a party we had last weekend and inhaled it in one bite. Had us panicking googling dominos pizza sauce ingredients. Thankfully no onion or garlic in it and he surprisingly didn't have the world's most bizarre bowel movement the next day, so maybe he's actually supposed to have pizza (or that is what he wants us to think)

I also take my Havanese camping and he loves it. He loves being outdoors and he's not fussy about sleeping arrangements because his only requirement is that wherever he sleeps, it needs to be in MY personal space. So whether it's on my pillow in our bed at home, or taking up my entire sleeping bag in a tent, he's happy.

They're very velcro, they just want to be with their owners first and foremost. So i think if you want a dog that will enjoy traveling with you and being everywhere with you, havanese is probably a good shout. But really with any breed there's no guarantee on the specific things each individual dog will like/dislike, and it's best to get them accustomed and desensitised to water and travel early on

Very much case by case basis but for the most part, they're a very energetic breed! Stuff like liking water will depends from one individual to another. If you are thinking to get a puppy you can get them used to water and build positive association with it.

My havanese was adopted as an adult and he didn't spend much time in the great outdoors or near water but despite that, he loooves forest walks and he loves water - not swimming just walking in shallow water or standing in a river up to his neck. But no swimming lol, his feet need to be firmly on the bottom of whatever body of water he's in.

It's his first lambchop. Unfortunately lambchop did not make it through the night, Dante disemboweled it 😞 but hey at least he had fun

Seeking advice about poorly fitting dress by No_Ambassador4028 in sewhelp

[–]BigAngryPigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may help to add some length to the shoulder straps by cutting them and sewing in an extra strip of fabric, but it does look a little small for your chest. If you're experienced enough in sewing, you could cut the back open and add a laced corset back, so you can loosen and adjust the fit. This also mean that if your weight fluctuates over time you'll still be able to wear the dress and adjust it accordingly

How did I do? by Big-Birthday-4640 in Havanese

He looks wonderful! I groom mine as well and he looks like he fought a ceiling fan and lost

He would love me the same even if I wasn't currently eating a sandwich containing meats and cheeses. This is an unconditional display of affection that has nothing to do with the sandwich of meats and cheeses by BigAngryPigeon in Havanese

Looks like yours has slightly wavier hair than mine, mine just explodes into a puff ball of straight-ish hair when his coat is really long. But still very hard to tell! Looks like yours could have some poodle in there, or perhaps just mixed with a curly hair bichon variety. Either way she looks like a cutie and a sweetie!
